Did Nate Diaz just undermine the entire PPV?

Conor's anti-promotion is a way better media campaign than the traditional promotion. It's generated so much buzz.

Nate and Dana seemed very friendly immediately afterwards.

I don't understand Nate's outlook though - he didn't even want the rematch initially, now it's McGregor or nothing?

He says he wants big fights (I'll grant you, ND v CM 2 is "big") but he threatens to go on vacation instead of being a part of the (in theory) biggest card in history?

Well money talks.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

If hes getting less now...who can blame him? Once you give a guy a taste....he will want it all, period.

He literally shat on the entire PPV. He basically said the Conor fight is more valuable to him than fighting on the supposed biggest card in history; the card "every fighter" wants to be apart of.

Easy with the "every fighter" bs. If the money is right then yes....and Nate has gotten a taste of it....he is no longer "every fighter".

Nate's just being very smart. Dana wants to keep Nate on the card because:
- he's riding high in terms of popularity since beating Conor
- to show Conor they don't need him. He's just an interchangeable piece they can swap out. The show must go on.

Nate knows this so threatening to go on vacation will either force Dana to bring Conor back or pay Nate bigger money to fight whoever they choose. Either way Nate get's paid.

Can't imagine Dana's reaction backstage but Nate stating that it's either Conor or he's going on vacation instead literally undermined the entire PPV as beneath him and also alluded to Conor being bigger than the PPV. UFC 200 is off to one bad start..
nah i think you're misreading this - its a great opportunity for the ufc to look self deprecetaing like it doesnt tell fighters what to do and they stand up for fighters, fairness etc. - it was all good publicity for the ufc, they played the good guy a bit here vs. conor who was too focused on money hahah

Conor and the Diaz brothers both are rebels and want the best for themselves as fighters. They have a mutual respect for each other. Btw I love all the new Nate fans since his win over McGregor, I wonder if they know anything about Nick's hospital story and what happened, the SF brawl, him beating the number 1 pound for pound fighter atm in PRIDE, etc.

Because it isn't the biggest card in history. With McGregor, it is. Nate knows that. He wants to main the biggest PPV against the biggest draw but without Conor, everything else is beneath him.

dont read too much into it. he was still at the press conference and if the money is right he will still be fighting.

as far as wanting to fight mcgregor and only wanting that fight, he has every right to have that view and anyone who questions him needs to just stop right now cause its silly.

also dont think its accurate to say he 'shit on the card'. whats he suppose to say ? he wants the money fight and he's ready. if anything both him and conor just did more to promote ufc 200 than anything else could possibly do.

Conor pulls out of the fight, but according to you, the question is if Nate is undermining the PPV. Geez.

Well sure they look like the fair organisation but this was a press conference solely to promote the PPV often alluded to the biggest in history. Having Nate sit there and literally day he doesn't want to fight on it and would rather be on vacation if Conor isn't there undermines the value of 200.

Conor was pulled from the event. Where do you get this "pulls out" delusion from?

So when Conor says anything it's a "negotiation tactic", but Nate can't do the same? Right on.

He was pulled for not showing up to the press conference and doing what he was contractually obligated to do. He is basically Conjob McDucker at this point.

it was an entertaining event where dana clearly played the self deprecating guy - they are making tons of money and conor is bringing tons of attention to the event - he will fight again and that will be a big event, its all good - nate got a lot of cheers, he got an opportunity to step up and fight conor and now is actually a much bigger star - he will get paid a lot more regardless and he is making sure that happens - at the end of the day, the ufc knows its taking the huge lion share of the profit so they can look like they conceded and still make a very large percent of the revenue - its all good for them ha

I'm not saying if it is, just that it publicly undermined the PPV. And, tbh, 200 is wack anyway.

Stupid rematch which didn't make any sense to begin with, but the media already swallowed the pill.

So being pulled from the event because you'd rather train for the fight than answer some media questions and shoot a commercial is now ducking. can't get any dumber than that folks

Yep. Just like RDA said, he's scared of getting his ass whooped again. He realized it's a bad move to rematch Diaz, so he's going to avoid it and play some touchbutt in iceland. He never had a problem with commercials and media before (he loves that shit). Tthese fighters that showed up don't mind missing a weekend of training to fulfill contract obligations. This is the easy way out, he's scared homie.

but nah it's Nate Diaz undermining the card
