Rakic kicks like a mules and he caught some seriously bad checks from Jan.

I doubt it
Checks attack the shins not the knee
Could really be anything that made his knee unstable. Sometimes weird shit happens like that when you step the wrong way. It happens in basketball quite a bit

It was a result of the damage on the other leg that forced Rakic to have to put all his weight onto one leg, which helped cause the knee injury.
Exactly. He was hopping around on his back leg for most of the first round and third round. Putting all of his weight on his right leg. Because of the leg kicks. Jan as usual checked every leg kick. But Rakic checked none of them and tried to tough it out but shifted too much weight, likely causing the knee injury.

Genius strategy by Jan to kick his one leg to cause him to put his weight on the other leg to snap that leg <TheWire1>

Quit being facetious. While it was probably not the strategy, Rakic's left leg was absolutely fucked and was definitely favoring the right leg. Was even limping on his way back to his corner after the second.

When you're doing big movements like Rakic does and you're favoring one leg over the other because it's fucked(and the leg you're favoring has been checked like 10+ times), this shit could obviously happen.

Overcompensating could've did that.

It was because of the leg kicks. Only people who haven't played sports or done mma would say his leg kicks had no effect. When you receive full force kicks to any part of your body... guess what... the rest of your body will be compromised as well because it has to now to do the work of the body part that has been repeatedly kicked.
