In the years he was fighting heavier fighters.
IT has not. Yet.
Besides BJ Penn himself fighting Lyoto machida at heavyweight?
He fought Machida and weighed in at 191, Machida 220ish. So it was considered an heavyweight / open weight fight.
He fought a guy over 205, so that's good enough.
I always found curious that Machida gained weight for that fight, dude was scared of Fat BJ.
They were both super pudgy in that fight. Kind of hilarious to watch.
Or, he didn't see BJ as a threat so he didn't train much
This might even be more likely, but Scurred Machida is funnier.
Are we speaking in riddles and poems? There exists did ever a Penn which weighed 191 against that of Machida.
Bit of a difference, here...
Is he visiting the Diaz brothers in Stockton in that pic or something? Because BJ was born rich and that sure ain't his house!
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at his best was kinda like a HW version of BJ Penn.
Good boxing with great BJJ. Both with great chins. Although Penn never really showed great BJJ off his back in MMA.
Heard of google?
So weird seeing BJ with hair.
When bj fought machida he did very well and though machida won decision I really thought bj did more considering the size difference
145 bj dont look right...like he's lost a lot of strength
and not a shit was given by baby j -- that day -- hey hey hey. haha. anyway, i can't wait to see bj at 145 Lbs. it should be interesting. war bj!!!
I don't see how getting fat would help him. Wouldn't you want to be in the best shape possible to fight a guy if you're scared?
