Did George Sotiropoulos get cut by the UFC?

I'm sure we would have heard something if he got cut officially.

no he has not been cut although he is sailing close to the wind with 4 losses in a row

I dont think so. Google it

A lot of Aussie fans, not a lot of Aussie fighters. (I'm surprised we have any UFC level really, other than hunt of course).

Dylan andrews, anthony perosh and hector lombard are fighting out of australia are they not?

Perosh is a wily vet, yet is ancient and mid tier at best. Andrews is young and marketable, though hardly a world beater (his loss to hall doesn't look good ATM). Lombard doesn't come across as Australian, (hunt, soa and Andrews are islanders, who Aussies are used to claiming as our own).

That's because Lombard is Cuban..

G-sot is sadly just not athletic enough to have ever been a top guy. His BJJ imo was probably the best in the LW division but he had no takedowns, average striking and was just far to chinny. Not sure if he's cut, he's got a decent fan base out here in Australia

I'd like to see G-Sot fight Mac Danzig if he loses to Lauzon tonight.

Then the loser of that fight can leave town.

It doesn't really seem like he is fighting seriously anymore either....

1 fight a year is way too few fights, even with TUFF thrown in there.

Did he suffer from many injuries, or what?

I Feel bad for George. He showed so much potential and then it all went to shit after Denis Siver beat him up for three rounds.

well technically hunt is from new zealand but same general area, but you're right. ufc probably wants to keep g-sot, noke, te huna, perosh and others around as long as possible to try to market ufc to australian/new zealand fans.

I know that he was pressured into doing that season of TUF, he had a bad knee and still fought against Pearson. I think he tore his knee up in that first round of that fight as he went into the fight with it not fully healed.

I'm sure that gives him some credit with the UFC, so I can understand not cutting him.

I imagine he would have after all his losses.
Don't think so. In other news, Alessio Sakara also isn't being cut. He posted on his FB yesterday that the UFC is letting him take a fight at 205 I believe. It's cool how the UFC is down to keep guys around if they really bring it but don't win a lot. Unfortunately, G-sot's fights aren't usually barn burners...
