When he rolled to his side, it looked like he was tapping or signalling to the ref that he wanted out. I only saw his back, though. Are there any other camera angles?
I wouldnt be against it, Matt was laying down some heavy leather. Inb4 some fat shit who's never trained a day in his life says tapping to strikes is cowardly
I didn't see a tap, but he definitely went into the fetal position which is as good as tapping in an MMA fight
I definitely wouldn't call it that, there was very clear cut moments in that fight where you could tell Silva was looking for a way out.
Not going to rewatch the whole fight to give exact times on moments but there were scrambles when both guys went down and Silva never even attempted to try to get the better of them or even get up I can remember one where they both went down and Silva was on his back with Brown not even on top of him and he didn't really make an attempt to move
Erick Silva is a STUD ! ! ! He took some of most brutal punishment from Matt Brown I have ever seen. Regardless of whether or not he tapped, he gained ALOT of respect from me, and obviously DW.
SO, You're suggesting that GSP is a coward for tapping to strikes by Matt Serra & that Shogun is a coward for tapping to strikes to JBJ ? ? ? What a JOKE !
I have been critical of herb dean in the past. but I have to say, he was the perfect ref in that fight. He let it go, didn't rush to stop it. And did stop at the absolute perfect time. the moment a fighter rolls over to the side like that, that is the sign he's given up. It's pretty much tapping out, without actually tapping out.
He was done and wanted out. It took the guy like 10 minutes before he could stand up. He just wanted the nightmare to be over.
