Did DC own ego hurt him in the long run??

His hands looked really good the first couple of rounds. Its easy to be the sunday morning analyst though, of course he's going to resort what he feels he does best. Who really expected jones to be able to dominate him inj his own game?

He definitely threw away the 5th round trying to get pointless takedowns, which probably was because of his ego

I agree, he spent the round holding on to jone's leg trying to get the takedown while jones was controlling and landing little knees punches and elbows.

"Now, you must remember: the enemy has only images and illusions behind which he hides his true motives. Destroy the image and you will break the enemy."

That is what Jones did. Destroyed the image, or ego. Breaking DC in the process. Classic.

I'd rek bruce lee inside 2 rounds with full thai rules

The biggest factor is he ran into a superior fighter

He definitely chased a moral victory int he final minute or two trying to get the TD but it isn't like he was pulling that fight out anyway

Anything else that factored in wasn't enough to tip the scales IMO. Jones is just better. And when someone who has no outside striking isn't hurting someone with his best inside punches and can't take him down and the guy is Jon Jones with his kind of versatile offense, well it makes for a hard night.
