I mean, I am little tired of hearing some of his die-hard fans keep bringing this fight up and talking about how awesome Anderson is. I wonder if these guys just looked it up on fightfinder and watched highlights of it on youtube.

What impressed me most about Anderson-Forrest fight was how big Anderson Silva looked compard to big weight cutter in Forrst Griffin. Rich Franklin was always thought of as a huge weight cutter in middle weight division, and he was dwarfed by Forrest Griffin.

Anderson Silva once claimed he cut from 230, but his fans refused to believe the man himself, stating he isn't that big just because he looked like some African orphan who only eats once every two days when he was fighting at welterweight once upon a time in his career.

Thing is, Anderson Silva wasn't doing absolute jack shit before he caught Forrest Griffin with a leaping hook. Then, only then, he started taunting his hurt opponent trying to goad him into throw so that counter him. Kinda reminds me of those people who only act tough after sucker punching a guy and gains a clear advantage.

I mean, I feel like, with all due respect to Forrest Griffin, but only people who talk about how great of a fighter he was are Anderson Silva's fans, I mean, he did face a cream of crop at LHWs, Irvin, Bonnar, and Griffin, the ex-UFC Light heavyweight champion, definitely on par with beating the likes of Matt Serra or Bisping.

Counting this fight or not, if you can't admit to yourself Anderson was great, you've got the problem...

So are you trying to say Forest Griffin was shit or Anderson Silva was shit?

113% of Andy's pre-USADA opponents popped for steroids and yet he didn't, so even if he was using, everyone he fought was using just as much, if not more.

Anyone attempting to discredit his wins on that LEVEL PLAYING FIELD is just embarrassing themselves.

Only scumbags try to point to other worse scumbags trying to justify themselves oh wait

Before the fight: "Forrest is going to muscle the shit out of beanpole Anderson!"

After the fight: "Forest is overrated as fuck, why doesn't Anderson take on a real contender?!"

Because join year of 2015 is so much better <45>

Although I can't be mad at you because 2009 was a long time ago and you probably had to be in bed early for church

To be fair a lot of the hype going into the fight was about the size of Forest and how he good and underrated his ground game was, many folks thought he would be able to out muscle and bully Anderson. Remember Forrest was still at Xtreme Couture back then and those guys knew how to gameplan fights.
Also Anderson was huge AND ripped in that fight, that was surprising at the time.

You joined 2015 you fuck. Most of us did actually watch that fight and were in awe while it was happening. That was straight matrix shit on a former LHW champion. Take your anime and beat it nerd.

Forrest was done and slow by the Silva fight but it was still an impressive win for him.

First PPV I ever bought, Anderson fan for life, OP clearly hates MMA.

Personally,I couldn't get over how big Forrest looked.

Xtreme Couture boxing coach Ron Frazier recently told MMAjunkie.com Radio (www.mmajunkie.com/radio) he's happy with the bout – Griffin's third potential opponent – and that his fighter is in a no-lose situation.

"I like the fight," Frazier said. "There was another fight out there. They had changed his opponent, actually, a couple of weeks ago. Nobody knows that, but they did.

"I like this fight a lot better than that one because you know what? I see this as a fight for Forrest that he has nothing to lose."

Griffin had been preparing to face Thiago Silva at the Aug. 8 event in Philadelphia. Public outcry following Silva's much-discussed April win over Thales Leites led the UFC to make the change in plans. While Anderson Silva is undoubtedly among the world's top pound-for-pound fighters, Frazier believes Griffin will present a multitude of problems for "The Spider."

"A lot of people on the Internet here and around the MMA community are probably going to expect [Griffin] to lose like they did against (Mauricio) 'Shogun' (Rua)," Frazier said. "Forrest fights well in big fights. He's not a small 205 [pounder]. He's a big 205 [pounder]. Take it down, make this a grimy, grind-out type of fight."

Frazier believes if Griffin can take advantage of his size, many of Silva's weapons could be neutralized.

"[Griffin] is going to hit the cage at about 225 (pounds)," Frazier said. "Make Anderson feel your weight. Don't try to make it a speed contest. Let this go 15 minutes hard.

"Anderson hasn't been pushed. Anderson has not had to be pushed. He hasn't had to go, 'Man, this guy just won't stop.' Forrest is not going to stop, so it'll be a great test for him."

Gotta love the morons who keep bringing up the 230 claim by Anderson

He also said he gets as low as 192 before the fight n many times weight in 2 or 3 pounds under mw limit, but don’t let facts distract you from your gsp nuthugging

He also step up on many occasions n went up in weight to face lhw

The only time gsp did something similar is after 4 years of hiding n getting a gift ts vs the weakest mw champ in long time
