Did anyone want to be a hacker as a kid?

Yes!

Movies and TV make hackers seem omnipotent.

"Yea, I can shut down the power in this city and get us to get out of school early, gimme a second..."

*rapidly types random buttons into the keyboard while wearing gloves with the fingertips cut off*

"...there!"

*Power goes out, all students get out of school*

Hell, I still do. Probably won't happen though since magic ain't real.

Remember that hilarious scene in swordfish when travolta tests Hugh jackman’s hacking skills by having him hack some network while a chick blows him?

I guess watching War Games made me think it could be cool but it's not like it became a life long dream. Just seemed like if Matthew Broderick could do it from his shitty home computer, I probably could too.

Yeah, but I had a buddy who was a legitimate genius-level computer wiz that was into hacking and phreaking back in the early-90s and I got a pimple-faced yellow-teethed greasy-haired Mountain-Dew-fueled look into that lifestyle and said fuck that.

He would spend his weekends staring into a terminal. I chose the path of smoking weed and dicking down hunnies instead.

Then I went to college and became a programmer. He went straight into the tech/security industry with no college. He got stupid rich off of bitcoin real early.

We talk a lot still and hang out every now and again. Hanging out with him is a lot more fun now. He fixed his teeth and complexion and also likes to smoke weed and chase skirts.

Not as a kid but my other half hacked quite a reasonable sized IT company I worked for in 10 minutes. Never told anyone obviously but it was pretty funny.

I remember I successfully used this site that would give you passwords for all the porn sites. Does that count?

I wanted to after watching Hackers. My cousin is an IT guy of some sort. He's a hobbyist hacker, nothing serious just fucks with people who anger him. He doesn't do it for money or anything....

if you're asking if I wanted to play with Angelina Jolie, then the answer is yes.

When I was a kid we had Atari and Commodore 64. No Internet. I wanted to be a pro BMXer. I had nerd friends that spen their time writing programs in Basic and Pascal....LOL what a waste!
