It happens in grappling. Sometimes you'll pick a guys nose, sometimes you'll accidentally fishhook.

This was round 1 I believe. The choke came in Round 2 so it didnt "get him the choke"

He did it in the 2nd to get the choke too just you can't see it on the replay they showed afterwards watch the last part of the fight, He seemed to hold the choke on a bit after Perez tapped and the ref touched them

He really doesn't make a good case for people to like him haha
