Is he badly hurt or anything? I was a fan of his now I never hear his name? Anyone know?

Last i heard he got a detached retina so he was forced to retire

Yeah, he is been retired for a while now. It's really too bad, he was one of my favorite fighter.

The Bispoke was really bad, It's a sad way to leave your career.
Always seemed a very likeable guy.

He got PWNED by the great Michael Bisping. If putting him into retirement shutting Belchers mouth along with several of the rabid Bisping haters on this forum is all Bisping accomplished in his career, nevermind fighting tough split decisions with light heavyweights Sonnen and Rashad, Bisping can retire a happy man. Instant MMA Hall of Famer and class act.

Idk but that eye poke he took from Bisping was brutal. His eye was bleeding and shit

Never celebrate an eye poke victory.

I will never understand this kind of hate.

skilled but poor fight IQ

Didn't the eye poke come in the last 30 seconds of what was a one sided fight? If so then it's ok to celebrate.

Sounds about right. Bisping was dominating before the poke. It wasn't like GSP-Shields where the poke came halfway through the fight and clearly affected the victim's performance.

I hate that he was injured from the poke, but he clearly wasn't elite. After a nice win streak, the two MW gatekeepers (Okami and Bisping) both dominated him. I absolutely loved Belcher's thrashing of Palhares, though. That's his career highlight IMO.

skilled but poor fight IQ

why pooor fight IQ? He just wasnt that skilled

Explosive and dangerous with strikes, but shitty footwork, average tecnique, and poor cardio

Pretty good submission grappler, but can't hang with elite wrestlers, nor could take anyone down if he needed.

Legit fighter nonetheless, but never was a legit top 10 fighter, and not because of IQ, but because of skill set

Bisping retired him

He was overrated, and the Palhares fight you could see how perfect it was for belcher to win, not a fan of him but I was one of the low % who said he wins that and why he does

Can't believe some fools thought he'd have a chance with vitor

Haha

But I guess when someone posts here they got to jump on their

He realised that to succeed, a gameplan was more important than a fighters account on sherdog. Its too bad, I must admit I jumped on his hypertrain but the losses against Okami and Bisping clearly showed he was a top 10 gatekeeper and not a contender.

But he is not that old he might come back at lhw though.

A lot of people don't know this, because it happened behind the scenes here, but when a sherdogger died in a car accident, Alan Belcher reached out to us and offered to do a charity thing for his wife & kids.

Truly great guy, and if he does make a comeback, I'll be rooting for him bigtime.

He's a class act for retiring a guy by poking him in the eye?

Da fuq is wrong with you?
