So if he had to lose weight to make 169?.. that would mean he walks around at 170-175?

He fights at 155... so he cuts what? 15-20 lbs to fight at light weight?

Conor weighed in at 168 lbs with no cut? he normally cuts to 145? Conor put on mass for this fight so he normally cuts what? 15-20 lbs to make FW?

Why does Conor get so much shit for fighting at 145, but Diaz does the exact same thing? It makes you wonder why Diaz does triathlons and is a vegan year round...if he put any muscle on his body he would not be a LW.. he'd be a WW like his brother who has the exact same body type

Conor haters please explain your logic?

Diaz walks around heavier than that according to his training partner/team. Joe Schilling said he walks around at 185. Nate himself says the diet is a killer all year to be hitting 155 and that's why he moved up a few times.

They won't explain btw ;)

No one cuts as harshly as Conor does.

He looks like a crack head when he goes to 145. Simply too big naturally to compete there. Lightweight is a truer reflection of his natural cutting size.

Like it is for Nate. Thats why he fights there.

Pointless thread.

Who really knows I was under the impression he was walking around at 185 but that turned out to be a lie, where is the source about his weight and weight cuts and all that so I can read it I like sources and the source must be from somebody close to him because I got the 185 from the media. Kills me how somebody will say something about somebody not knowing if its true or not like its written in the constitution

Noob casuals will never comprehend the difference between walk around weight and cutting weight

Nate is definitely required to cut some serious weight to hit 155, and has missed weight before. He temporarily moved to WW for a reason. He's bigger than Conor.

That said, he's the guy Conor asked for, he hit the agreed weight for their fight and he's the guy that choked Conor out.

As someone has pointed out it is on record that that Diaz walks round at 185-190 . He is on record and admitted so himself when he moved up temporarily to welterweight .

He admitted he 'keeps himself hungry year round ' to keep his weight around 170 so he can make the cut to lightweight 155lb. However if he gets some time to eat normally his weight goes up to 30+ of the lightweight limit.

He said ' he didn't know if he would stop at welterweight, but he was fed up of the weight cut and restricting his diet '.

Just Google ' Nate Diaz walk around weight ' plenty of articles on him talking about his weight cut . Including one in MMA Junkie were he states he is back up to around 190lb a week after a weight cut at 155.

He also states he was testing the welterweight waters 'because he was running off no fuel eating only vegetables and fruits '.

Diaz is a decent size lw no one has ever considered him big for lw.

If you want to see what someone losing because of their size looks like go watch nates ww loses. Dude looked tiny and got ragdolled.

Conor got beaten standing by a better striker. When grappling weight makes a huge difference in striking not so much.

I'd often thought Diaz fit pretty mch in between 155 and 170. He struggles to make one but is too small for the other. Him appearing too small for WW was exacerbated by the fact that Dong and Rory threw him around, taking advantage of his below par wrestling.

Also fw to lw is just under a 7% jump in weight. Lw to ww is just under 10%.
Thats a considerable difference.

I am sure the weight cut sucks for nate but no more than average imo.

Maybe. He's dabbled in moving up because he hated having to (paraphrased) starve himself all the time.

Firstly you post as if i am making excuses for McGregors loss which i am not . This weight issue has become an issue between Conor lovers and haters . I am just playing devil's advocate , but i think there is no doubt Diaz is a larger man .

I think you mistake musculature for size and height and reach . Diaz is the tallest and has the longest reach in UFC lightweight top ten, admittedly while he won't win any bodybuilding competitions he has a large frame .

You say nobody thinks he is a big LW ? Well i do i think he is massive for a man who fights at 155lb.

A caveat to this , Donald Cerrone is listed at 6"1 , but somebody is lying about their height . When they fought you could see that Diaz was the slightly taller of the fighters when he stood up straight .

I suspect Cerrone is slightly shorter than 6"1 he is listed at , and Diaz slightly taller than 6".
