Pettis a fighter that breaks under pressure and as we saw what happened in his fight against Ferguson the UFC knew Diaz has a good shot and now that Pettis is kind of "hot' again this is the perfect timing for Diaz to beat a relevant fighter and call out McGregor.

Pettis isnt a tune up for anyone. Diaz doesnt do well against kickers.

Most of his losses are against way more well rounded fighters than Diaz.

Any fight that’s basically even odds (pettis slight favorite) is the farthest thing from a tune up fight

Ok but 3 years is a significant time away.. and his opponent posses one of the 3 things you can use and decision a Diaz bro... leg kicks, clinch, wrestling.

I'm with you with the breaking part Pettis has done it in the past so it can happen again but can Nate trigger it we shall see.

I’m looking forward to this fight. If you’re looking past it for Conor McGregor you’re doing it wrong.

I wouldn't say a tune up fight. Pettis is a tough fight for him. A build up fight to get people interested again and make the Conor Trilogy relevant again? Sure I can see that.

Why would mcgegor take that fight? That fight will always be there for him. Once Conor’s fame/stock drops he can always fall back on the rubber match for 1 last payday

Calm down mate. Pettis was getting dominated by wonderboy buts he has his "magic" moments one in a while. Before that fight quite frankly he was on his way to irrelevancy

Not saying Nate took a dive but I still think hr kinda sorta purposely made the Conor rematch closer than it shouldve been in Hope's of a rubber match. I actually hope that happens for him...but Pettis is far from a tune up fight.

I agree with you, but I don't think that Pettis has the cardio to beat Diaz like Dos Anjos or Josh Thompson did. And I really don't see Pettis scoring a KO against Nate Diaz at 170. You have to consider that cutting weight increases your likelihood of being knocked out, so Diaz has a much better chin at 170.

I mean, Conor put out Alvarez at 155 impressively with his power, but he couldn't put Nate away no matter how hard he hit him. If those fights happened at 155, Conor would have absolutely KO'd Diaz both times.

I agree with most people here that Nate is going to just keep coming forward with pressure, and eventually Pettis will gas. Nate will be bloody as hell, but he'll have his arm raised.

Agreed. Only way doesn't happen is if Diaz got really effected by the inactivity. I don't think he's that Rusty but we will see
