I watched the fight a couple of times in slo mo and Ronda's standup still has a lot to be desired. She lost all sense of patience and form agaisn't beth and was wildly winging and missing with her punches at the start of the fight. Secondly she still seems to panic when being backed up, hands down chin exposed. The one good upside is she has developed some power in her punches and follows up nicely with knees when up close.
I hope she doesnt buy into the hype of how great her boxing is, because if she relied on it while facing a fighter with power and presicion she could end up in a world of trouble. Just like her stablemate Marina shaffir. Apart from Cyborg my candidates for an upset against ronda would be someone like Amanda nunes or germaine Randamie. They both have power in their hands and feet. If you have followed and kind of combat sport for a while you must know even the very best can be beaten. Mike tyson, Andeson silva, Anthony pettis.......

If WMMA had even a single slightly well rounded fighter Ronda would get wrecked.

Mens MMA has had dozens of guys go on 10+ fight win streaks against much more well well rounded competition and get zero accolades.

If Rousey ran into that person, she would revert to judo, toss them on their head and break their arm.

Well-rounded doesn't stop a world class specialist at their specialty.

Just ask yourself how many fighters on the planet can stop Demian Maia or Werdum when it goes to the ground.

You were saying?

It looked terrible. Ronda just throw haymkers, no faints, just throwing punches with her chin up. She punched the fence more than she did Bethe.

But it's okay, people will just post the final punch. S'okay.

No, she looked just as shitty as she did against Coreira, which many people pointed out, she looked like a wasted Tank Abbot, made Abbot look like a surgeon.

We've long known power is much more important that classic technique, see Big Country.

Imagine any male fighter attempting to do what Ronda does? Just stomping in with no movement, taking clean strikes to the head and attempting to clinch… They would all be out cold within a minute. The male version of Ronda is the alternative reality. 0-12 with every loss in under 30seconds.

And out cold she was.

I thought the same thing after viewing it a few more times.

Of course with how shallow WMMA is, she has nothing to worry about. I know Ronda is cream of the crop, but when your opponents are very unlikely to knock you out, she has way more room for error to battle through it, throw, and submit her opponent.

To be fair, it's the same reason I respect streaks at Heavyweight more than any other division. For example, what JDS did leading up to the titleshot with Cain was incredible, and a god damn testament to his chin.

Christ, just shut up with your Shit man.
She knocked a chick clean out and you're talking about watching it in slow motion.
Just go away

i thought bethe was winning until she got KO'd.

Her head literally does not move when she throws her punches. So if you know she's coming in throwing punches you automatically know where her chin is going to be. And again on her exit she just backs straight out, no head movement. Plus her chin is in the air. As my boxing coach used to say 'He fights with his face'

This is her biggest single defensive flaw and it will take a lot of drilling to correct. I have seen literally no improvement in head movement since she first fought in the UFC. She needs a new boxing coach. Duane 'Bang' Ludwig could help her out.

Felt she showed composure and improvement, her jab looked stiff when show wasn't flailing her lead hand trying to grab Bethe's head, and her left hook and right cross looked good and she is throwing them with power behind them

She looked really bad, indeed. However, she got the "W" and that is all that seems to matter around here.

in other words,

Her boxing is terrible but atleast she has some power

You funny guys with only boxing skills. You can KO a lot of people with terrible hands if they have to constantly hold them low to prevent the take down.

Ronda would be world champ in boxing

According to her trainer and puppy dog Edmund

Anyone impressed by the KO alone should take some time to attend an amateur MMA event, particularly one that is not regulated. You will likely see a host of knockouts performed by fighters that have never trained outside of their own backyards.

Wannabe boxing snobs are hilarious
