Derrick Lewis's post fight interview

If that man actually took fighting seriously and lost some weight and did some cardio, and possibly dropped a weight class or two...He would still be a force to recon with. Lewis isn't really a heavyweight so he needs to shape up to get further in the UFC.

TS, he's a genuine HW

A video of BB surfaced on Sherdog a couple of days ago... from 6 years ago, he was in pretty good shape then at 240lb. He's an athletic guy & the extra weight probably gives him more power but might not slow him down too much.

Derrick Lewis is most certainly a heavyweight. The idea he could drop to LHW or MW is absurd.

Background
Born and raised as one of seven siblings, the second oldest, by a single mother in New Orleans, Louisiana, Lewis was troubled growing up and was often involved in street fighting.[3] In 1999, Lewis and his family relocated to Houston, Texas due to his mother being in an abusive relationship. At the age of 17, Lewis began training in boxing and was preparing for his first amateur fight when the gym unexpectedly shut down.[4] Two weeks after graduating from high school, Lewis was charged with aggravated assault, and was placed on probation. Two years later, while attending Kilgore College on a full scholarship for football, Lewis violated his probation and was sentenced to five years in prison, but ended up serving three and a half.[5] A week after being released, Lewis was introduced to mixed martial arts by a friend and, while working as a tow-truck driver, continued with boxing under the tutelage of George Foreman. However, after dominating in his first professional mixed martial arts fight, Lewis decided to focus on mixed martial arts.[4]

When your back is messed up it's hard to breathe.

I really hope Lewis doesn't retire...he has tons of fight left in him and would love to see him fight Ngannou still at some point. Before the Hunto fight he said he wanted Francis next so I'm thinking he was speaking from emotion and pain.

He's 6'3" and a damn pudgy one at that. If you don't think that he couldn't drop about 40lbs of fat and be able to make 205 then that's your opinion. You probably think Roy Nelson is also just a naturally stocky heavyweight as well right?

I hope he doesn't retire, I like the dude.

He barely made 265 and probably cut to get there. Even if he lost 40pounds of fat he'd still be 225 after a cut. Learn some math.

You suggested that Derrick Lewis could make MW, and that is absurd.

He wasn't always a thick boy, he's let himself go so if anything he could fight at an appropriate weight for heavyweight if anything. He's fat and out of shape, it's a fact.

*Should of played Prison League football or Hand ball
Could of been the two tier prison yard champchamp

He eats ribs, chicken wings and drinks milk before fights... dude eats like he wants and was on a 7 fight win streak.

Major props to him. Fuck everybody saying he should diet this, take seriously that. Why? UFC is SHIT pay anyways. he was making shit pay after his 7 fight win streak.

Anderi Glass Chin Arlovski was getting 5 times his pay to get KO'd in round 1 of 3 fights in a row.

FUCK THE UFC!
