What initially seemed like a Scottish ripoff of House MD actually turned out to be a decent show.
This detective is a complete dick to everyone. At least when House did it he was funny, and he usually had a good reason. But this guy's just a dick because he's a dick.
But I suspected he might be some kind of genius like House or Monk but he's not. He seems like a good detective, but his partner is equally as good, and his Muslim assistant is better.
Speaking of the Muslim assistant, he's probably the most poorly written character. He's damn near perfect in every way, which is obviously an attempt to quell anti-muslim racism. He has an interesting mystery in his backstory, but I hope they give him moments of weakness in the second season, because making him a damn angel just feels very unrealistic.
Anyhoo, the show is flawed but good. I think if you enjoy detective shows you'll probably like it. I look forward to them fixing some of the flaws in season 2. I think this show has potential.
PS. The chick is not hot. I mean, in some shots she kinda looks almost hot enough... If you're desperate. And you do get a fraction of a second's glimpse at her tits.,.
