Dems to push more healthcare reform

To greedy to accept? Asshole, if I was too greedy to accept it, I would tell my Special needs son to fuck off and not pay for the insurance at all. Im pissed that it takes the lions share of my damn income. Fucking silver plan costs more per month then my motherfucking house payment.

I think subsidies should drastically be increased, preferably by taxing the rich, but if Dems did that Republicans would cry socialism.

Been saying this for a couple of years. My work pays almost as much for my health insurance as they do to pay me. Its absurd. Never in my life have I come close to dropping on health care what I spend on insurance in a year.

We also have the "silver plan" now. Used to have my prescriptions covered, copays and premiums were nothing. Now I don't even use it.

Oh yeah, but I just "don't understand" it somehow.

Your income is going to healthcare. Insurance is paying for it. You're not a profitable customer for insurers. I would support more redistribution to benefit you, but you should be aware that that's what you're asking for.

Is that some kind of gotcha? Oh looky, the right winger cuck wants some help with this insurance. Does it make you feel good to have "gotten" me? I have changed my position on many things this last few years. UHC and UBI being one of them. Prolly gonna register as a independent.

Here is the thing. My Silver plans cost is not really related to my son. Even if I lied and signed up on our companies silver plan as a perfectly healthy individual, the plans costs would not have changed one bit. The fact is, I could lower my costs a hell of a lot by divorcing my wife and booting her off of it. None of the plans are affordable TBH. The bronze plan and the Platinum(the best) have no prescription coverage at all. Only silver does. Not only that but the deductibles on bronze are astronomical. Sure I would afford the monthly better, but god forbid I ever have to use it. Would be financially devastating.

I am sure the costs can be controlled better on a Macro level with .GOV negotiating prices down vs how it is done now.

I get it through the employer and it still costs my family almost a 1000$ a month for a silver plan.. So fuck insurance companies.
1200/month because I own a small business. That is for me, wife and 2 kids.
Last year paid out around 11k for my son to be born. Had to pay it up front before he was born. Supposed to cover everything and then got another bill for 1500. paying that fucker off 100 bucks a month. Cant charge interest on a medical bill, so wait for it over a year, parasites.

Whoa, tiger. Just clarifying for you. I'm not a competitive arguer. Note that where I'm coming from is concern about the politics of UHC (whether through the ACA or single payer), as I think that's the real issue that has to be tackled. This isn't a technical challenge. The pre-ACA system was so bad that we had a lot of obvious, easy solutions, which we then implemented. But even those improvements were made with handcuffs on. And your post showed one of the big obstacles--it's not just that many people will be worse off with reforms; it's that many of the beneficiaries of further redistribution fail to see themselves as needing it.

You know...... there is an Independent Senator who has been pushing for UHC for many years. Also might be running for President in 2020. Just sayin.

You hit one of my biggest fears for UHC. Lines. Wait times. I have read and heard on the news during the 2010 lead up to Obama care about horrendous wait times for needed surgeries in UHC countries. Take my mom for instance. She is getting a knee replacement. From first doctor appointment to first cut into the flesh is less then a month. Yet in UHC countries it can be up to a year wait. Which for my mom would have been agonizing.

That is my one real fear.

Now the Experimental treatment aspect of this is also interesting. IF UHC does not allow experimental treatments, how then do new treatments get developed and sent to market? Every new medical advancement started as something experimental. Wouldn't medical science and advancement slow under a UHC system?
Thats just right wing propaganda and not true at all.. the wait times bogeyman is republican fiction. My wife got her knee trashed at a koncert on a sunday, had surgery Thursday. There is certainly no 1 year wait times on needed surgery.
Ofcourse they experiment. They are just a lot more cautious about rolling out for general use.
Not like the US where they just settle massive lawsuits after some drug has been found to have serious side effects.

It's also not every country that has the latest experimental stuff in every single field

Provide universal healthcare with optional private healthcare. Then private has to compete with universal in order to be viable.

Theyll never do that in Murka because the private insurance comapnies and their CEO's would never be willing to take the hit on their margins they would have to in order to compete with single payer. Thats why when ACA was created Obama wanted to have Medicaid-for-all option for people to opt in to and the insurance companies fought tooth and nail against it because the CEOs dont want to take a hit to their lavish lifestyles.

How come the USA has so much healthcare tourism coming from these countries? Nobel prizes aren’t the best way to measure innovation and the USA has developed more than half of new medications in the last decade.

Do you work in the healthcare field?

Why were Murkans in border states hopping the border in Canada and using fake OHIP cards to get free healthcare since the 80s?

Why are Canadians coming to the USA for healthcare? Why do you have to wait longer to see a specialist in Canada?

So you base your entire line of thinking based on your wife’s experience. Wait times a real and I deal with them daily. People can’t get see a psychiatrist or neurologist in my area for up to 6 months.

There are more Murkans hopping the border than Canadians and the Canadians do it because they want non-essential services, want to skip lines, go on vacation, and have the money to do it.

Why are Murkans going on healthcare holidays in Europe where they go on vacation and have minor dental and healthcare procedures done because they could never afford it in the greatest country in the world?

No I base it on a life time using the system. Several cancer deaths, several car crashes, a nephew that was 3rd degree burned on 55% of his body in our family alone. I also have a bad back that needs regular treatment.
Friends and colleagues who also use it.
Where is your area?

Minor dental and healthcare procedures are affordable in America. Basic care is very cheap as well yet most people neglect it. People don’t take care of themselves enough. Healthcare is a privilege and not a right. I don’t want my money going towards it.

Liberals base thoughts on feelings rather than facts. You are talking about a system you don’t understand. If anything we need to make healthcare less accessible as it damages hard working Americans. EMTALA has increased the mortality rate on ESI level 2-3s due to overcrowding with nonsense complaints. Hard working Americans are being punished with higher healthcare costs to cover for shitty Medicare reimbursement rates.

HatchetHarry is back making a fool of himself like usual.

He is NOT interested in facts. In another thread I pointed out his lies and he ran away like a rat who couldn’t face his own stupid remarks

Here’s one of the dumbest poets on sherdog.

“We should make healthcare LESS ACCESIBLE”

Lol Wut.

Then he tries to wrap up the stupidity of that comment in a bow with “it hurts hard working Americans”

Yeah those same Americans who would lose their jobs In recession, then they’d be facing LESS ACCESSIBLE healthcare.

The level of stupidity is so on the nose its hard to comprehend.

I’m pretty sure you are a gimmick account but if not you should really get a vasectomy. Good thing most people aren’t as stupid as you are and we elected a good man into office.

So what happens to those “hard working americans” you care so much about when they lose their jobs in a recession.

Like In 2008.

What, do they all of a sudden become “lazy mooches?” Since we went with your plan of “making HC less accessible.”

Gimmick account or not, he is right, you are incredibly stupid.
