    He couldve grappled if he wanted too.
    Bill Curry went for takedowns in his fight against Dempsey which was the same type of fight as this. Dempsey KOd him in the 2nd as well.

    they don't have that on film do they? dempsey was well versed in all aspects of fighting in any event. Probably the only great champ to have experience with all facets of fighting, duran might be in that category too, he once bragged that he was a much better streetfighter than a boxer.

    I couldnt find any video. just articles about it. I think Curry had him in a headlock at one point and then jack knifed the two of them out of the ring. Dempsey KOd him with a body shot in the 2nd
