Is a dominant victory over Matt Brown at UFC 198 enough to get him a title shot? He will be on a 5 fight win streak. I think he deserves it.. This is a terrible matchup for The Immortal also.
Thiiiiiis. He deserves it but he won't get it.
Right now GSP, Conor, Condit and Woodley are in the mix. If life was fair, Lawler vs Wonderboy would be next with Maia getting the winner.

Yes, it's definitely enough for a title shot under the right circumstances. He's already got much more of a claim than Tyron Woodley does.
Unfortunately, these aren't the right circumstances. You always should compare every contender to other contenders in the division. And even with a win over Brown, Wonderboy is ahead of him, Condit could get his Lawler rematch, and GSP and McGregor could jump in line due to their star power. So I think Maia will have to fight someone else even if he beats Brown. Same goes for Matt Brown if he beats Maia.

I dont think he beats Condit, Rory, Wonderboy, Hendricks, Woodley, or Robbie. Tough spot for Maia. He has earned it, but I dont think it's worth wasting a fight on.
He already got wrecked by Rory. I dont think he has a chance standing with any of them. Sure his BJJ is good enough to sub them all if they're on the ground long enough. But I dont think he gets it done.I honestly think he could beat all of them.. He might not beat all of them but he could...
And I think he can even hang with Woodley and Hendricks on the feet. Call me crazy brah
In order of toughness of the fight....... Robbie, Rory, Wonderboy, Hendricks, Woodley

Nah, if life was fair we would have Condit vs Wonderboy for the title, and if Maia beats Borwn he would get the title shot, while Lawler fights Woodley for his rebound match. He deserves it but he won't get it.

Maia gave Rory a hell of a scare in round one too. Wrecked is not the word to use for the narrow win Rory achieved in that fight. What? It was 29-28 decision with the fight being decided late in the third round.. Maia slammed Rory late in round 3 and Rory got up and landed some shots...
The first round went to Maia 100 percent....2 judges on sherdogs play by play gave him a 10-8 round... Second round Rory.. 3rd round razor close but Rory got it.. Wrecked?
Rewatch that fight. Maia took him down, but did nothing with it. The rest of the fight was Rory putting a beating on him.Maia gave Rory a hell of a scare in round one too. Wrecked is not the word to use for the narrow win Rory achieved in that fight.

Man WW is stacked with potential title matchups right now...
