While a lot of fighters and MMA personalities are jumping on the Chris Weidman bandwagon leading up to his fight with UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva next weekend, don't count on Demian Maia to be one of them.

The Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace, who's been lucky enough to face both men inside the Octagon and live to tell the tale, believes that "The Spider" has the edge in next weekend's UFC 162 headlining title bout.

Everyone who has fought anderson thinks he will win

Everyone who has trained with Weidman thinks he will win.

Demian fought both of them. I'd take his word for it to be quite honest.

Unfortunately he fought Chris on short notice so he couldn't tell the full potential of him, but his predictionis probably the safest to believe. Anderson by KO.

Most likely Anderson wins and Weidman suddenly loses all credibility as a challenger.

People will claim he was never any good and all those who predicted Weidman's victory will silently wait for everyone to forget.

Let's not forget he's Brazilian, I'm sure that has nothing to do with it..

Anderson has this. I don't see how Chris has a chance.

Weidman isn't aggressive, fast or relentless enough with his takedowns, IMO. Anderson by (T)KO.

If anyone would know it would be him. Very interesting he brought up Anderson's guard as I am sure he studied it before fighting him. Either way I would put more stock in what Weidman has to say than any of the other guys trying to call it.

And with a UFC fighter's salary, that isn't money to be playing around with. Saying he'd bet $100 is really saying a lot.

Considering what Anderson did to him I wouldn't think it would or have they made up and become friends?

Not a bold statement to make considering its Anderson Silva hes talking about. People always buy into the hype before an Anderson fight and the only time it somewhat paid off was Sonnen/Silva 1 and then Anderson owned him in the rematch and shut up the detractors. Anderson via tko round 2

Demian trains with Team Nogueira and Blackhouse on occasion. Just sayin'.

Roger Gracie although said some nice things about Weidman would still put his money on Anderson as well and he comes from Renzo Gracie's camp and Renzo is currently training with Weidman for the fight.

You forgot to mention also how people will talk about how middleweight division is the weakest
