One could argue Edgar is right there since he shows all the same qualities like amazing cardio, great wrestling, GnP, subs, footwork, chin, knockout power, etc. The difference being Edgar has held a title above his current weight class while MM has not.

I love DJ but no, he is not the best fighter on the planet. The best fighter on the planet is the man who is on a 13 fight win streak, destroyed the most stacked and competitive division at the time, who defeated 5 consecutive world champions, who never lost a fucking fight in his career(fuck off with that hamill shit), the youngest champion in history and 9 time world champion.
