Youtube and social media are notorious purveyors of nonsense and fake news, but in terms of Climate Change even the mainstream media channels have a history of giving way too much attention to whichever cranks and political advocates shout the loudest instead of actually reporting on science.
Search algorithms based on traffic are essentially exactly the same.
