Deiveson Figueiredo, Management Seek Immediate Trilogy with Brandon Moreno

He was decisively beat. If he made it close maybe he has a case, but not now. He got his ass whooped.

Nope.

1- No one should ever fight the same opponent 3x in a row.

2- Champ doesn’t deserve an instant rematch when they lose decisively.

Just curious - even after a super long title run? You wouldn't have given Anderson the rematch with Weidman, or say if GSP had lost during his reign?

If it was up to me, no.

Anderson got fucking smoked by Weidman. Chris bounced his head off the mat like a basketball. The narrative that Anderson was clowning is naive, he was clowning BECAUSE he wasn’t fighting effectively and couldn’t get Weidman to leave him openings.

Instant rematches don’t leave any room for improvement to address the reasons for the loss.

in the case of championship instant rematches, they ruin careers. If the losing champ loses again he is 0-2 vs the new champ and really has no path to the title. From champ to gatekeeper in 2 fights, and no new contender created in the process, what a waste. Look at BJ Penn and Anderson, both went from MMA god & top P4P into freefall downward spirals.

If a fighter loses fair and square with no controversy, then they should earn a chance at redemption, they should not be entitled to it.

Especially champs. Why does the champ only have to win 1 out of 2 but the challenger needs to beat the champ twice to be champ?
That’s bullshit.

*like* I think that is a really good take on such. Thanks for a great reply.

Only in those situations does it make sense. It's like earning extra lives in a video game when you dominate long enough.

It could happen. UFC doesn’t want Askarov anywhere near their new golden boy Moreno

He got blown out. He should sit one out just to study the new champ more. He might be one of those guys who have his number but will lose to others.

Do it. Just make it a co main or 3rd main event. Dont be cheap dana fck

Deiveson is gonna kill himself continuously cutting to make that weight

He needs to move up to 135. The weight cut finally got the best of him. The guy walks around at 165.
