Media Deiveson Figueiredo Calls For Flyweight Title Fight vs Pantoja

Nearly 37 year old Figgy cutting back down to flyweight, no thanks.
The flyweight division is slim pickings right now(it's only KKF really & he isn't that marketable). He last fought at Flyweight under 2 years ago & he's older, but having a win over the champ is marketable and Figgy has some name value.

The loss at BW really sent him to the back of a long line for a title shot as well.

This^^^^^

I actually love watching Figgs fight, but the fact that he’s been in 7 FLW title fights already is enough. The 4 fights with Moreno were compelling, but way overdone… I have nightmares of Joe B screaming himself awake from being KTFO. thankfully the division moved forward from the ridiculous rematches and suspect conclusions to those fights.

The cut to flyweight was killing Figgy, he made a good move for his health moving up to bantamweight. Unforunately he likely will never become a champion up there. He likely will just have "fun fights" for the rest of his career, he will probably never hold UFC gold again. People who think Figgy can turn back the clock & become a flyweight champion again are probably the same people who thought Mike Tyson could do the same vs Jake Paul.

It doesn't make sense in term of rankings, but unfortunately it's still the most interesting fight at FLW for Pantoja.

Yeah sure there’s no else.

His last few times at 125, you could tell the weight cuts were really affecting him. He should stay at 135 and just try to keep racking up wins.

At work so sorry about the threads, but Figgy calls out Pantoja so had to post.

Is everyone into it? Last person to beat Pantoja.

Dawg... Maybe you should have beaten Yan and gotten the CORRECT title shot.
This just makes you look dumb

<{nope}>

At this point in time, if they can make weight, in down
Where you at DC? Where you at Brock?

If they can't bring in Horiguchi then I think this is the 2nd best option. Cejudo a close 3rd

Kai Kara France makes much more sense than either of those guys. He would at least be very competitive with Pantoja most likely.

Honestly ... THIS (or Cejudo) ... Pantoja has no other options, with DJ declining.

(No disrespect to DJ)

If Fig wants to prove he can still make 125 and still be elite there, he should fight an eliminator vs Tatsuro Taira or KKF

Pantoja would probably want to get that one back, but I don't see Dana being enthusiastic about him dropping back down again.
