"I will keep training the same athletes but if Urijah Faber comes here, i will work with him as well. If anyone here feels unconfortable about it, ill schedule a different session. I want to work with all kinds of athletes no matter where they are from"

With that, we will see him less and less in the corner during fights. The MMA team will be on the hands of nova uniao old generation (Léo Santos, Thales Leites, Hacran Dias)

He will keep working with shooto(brazilian mma event) and managing fighters.

He plans on creating the the best training structure in brasil in the next three years. Like a UFC performace institute of sorts (from what i understand).

This is just the evolution of the sport. And you can’t fault the man, he’s one of the best trainers in the world, produced multiple world champions, and sounds like a smart business man.

Fell asleep twice reading this bs.

End of an era. Wish him luck in all his endeavors.

That team has sucked for awhile now. No evolution. Tiny ass gym. No wonder all the best Brazilian fighters are moving overseas.

looking at that picture how crazy is it to think Aldo is a career FW and Renan was the one that was BW champ. He looks way bigger

Guy was a force in his prime before the weightcuts killed him

He was a good coach, but I feel like he never evolved as a tactician and didn't make proper adjustments to his fighters mid fight.

Anyway...best of luck to him in the future

Spot on. Pederneiras is the man here in Rio.
He was responsible for the success of one of the most incredible champions of all time: José Aldo Junior.

Barao is standing closer to the camera. But they are roughly the same size side by side

I like when they had Countdown videos of Aldo training there. There would be this small room with so many people on the mats. I think the idea was if there was more than a couple square feet of open space, then another pair had to get on the mats.

Aldo and Barao were on winning forever. The team takes a downturn and everybody sucks. Does Jackson's suck? Does Tri Star suck? They've all fallen from where they were. The top guys in the sport are all from smaller teams. Only AKA (which has had tons of ups and downs) have reigning champions and that's due to actual champions having to give up their belts.

And I guess Woodley as well, but I don't think he even trains much at the main ATT gym anymore. I'm probably way off on that though.

Sadly I agree. They've stagnated for the last 5-6 years?
