Debating a new punching mitts, thai pads, and body shield...

    Hey Guys,
First off, I have searched the forums. However, most of the information was out of date, or didn't fully answer my questions.

    1. I'd like to know what full body kicking shield you recommend. I am also looking to get a thai heavy bag and some regular thai pads. I throw a lot of "hard" kicks, and I am accustomed to (kicking and holding) an 8 inch thick kicking shield. However, the bag is no longer made, and while the padding is fantastic, the handles were absolute trash. Most of the full body kicking shields I see are 5 inches or less, and unless that material is extremely high density, I don't think it will cut it for full force kicks. (Maybe roundhouses, but not for straight line kicks.)

    2. I'm also looking for a good set of Thai Pads for $60 or less. I might spend $100 on them, but they would have to be fantastic pads that would last for 10 years of constant abuse.

    3. I want to get some of the curved punching mitts, but I haven't found them anywhere for a decent price. (Say $35, $40)

I would appreciate your insight and vast knowledge good sirs! :icon_chee

First off, thanks guys. I appreciate your time. Has anyone used any of the full body kicking shields from combat sports? They all look like they are no more than 5 inches thick, even the $100 beast. The handles look much tougher, but I don't want to be breaking someone's ribs when I wail on them. Does anyone have experience with them, or know anything about the padding? The site didn't list the dimensions.

If the guy is holding it right then breaking ribs isn't an issue, I've heard alot of good things about the combat sports gear, but I haven't had the opportunity to try it myself sadly.
