Dear Sherbros, does Tony Ferguson remind you a bit of Genki Sudo?

The UFC should embrace individuality instead of pandering to the lowest conor denominator.

Bonus Genki Sudo Westside Submission Tournament from 2001 and a documentary.

Sherdog embraces individuality. Tony has got a huge following on here.

I think many mma fans are closet cases. I dont care about "personality" "looks" "behavior" it not like I want to hang out with these guys. Nor would they want me to. Tony gives pure entertainment, is a barbarian who won't quit and has most fight bonus of active fighters because of it. Thats why I like him.

Notice all in octagon criteria?

If by that you mean the complete opposite of Genki, sure.

Shebro? That's offensive dude. I identify as a Sherdragon.

If he comes out wearing a KFC bucket and giant swings someone then we can talk

I mean there's only one Genki Sudo as far as I'm concerned but if the UFC hadn't banned fun I'm pretty sure Tony is the type of dude who would do some weird ass shit during his walkouts

I'd love it, Genki was such an awesome guy to watch. What exactly did they ban?

You aren't allowed to wear any non-Reebok apparel to the weigh in or during your ring walk, you have to get your song pre-approved and they get pissed at you if you do any sort of choreographed act or dance on the way to the ring

Basically no fun allowed, it's part of the UFC's attempt to pretend they're the NFL and not the silly pseudo-sport that we know and love

i can't really fathom how they're similar, outside of both being pro fighters at some point in time...

If Diego Sanchez had been the original Terminator instead of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tony would have been the new and improved Terminator 2.

Breakdancing...

Odd yet successful scramble techniques in the cage...

Super colorful personalities...

A true warrior spirit...
