In bjj they always say then you tap which doesn't explain what happens in a real situation like what happens in a non sport situation performing the crucifix? They say you can put up to 600 lbs of pressure on their neck with that move so does it end in a kill? What moves actually kill if you aren't using it in a sport submission way?

Jiu Jitsu was originally the martial art of the samurai designed to kill and was illegal to practice by everyone else; now days people act like its a game. I think it would be good to know which ones actually kill in a self defense situation so you don't accidentally kill someone and to know how to kill if the situation warrants it.

It may just be a rumor . . . but I've heard that if you choke someone for long enough they die.

i heard Einarr is wanted in some eastern bloc countries for death by osotogari

Obviously but that takes like 5 minutes. There must be some that snap the neck and end it instantly, thats what Im talking about not choke someone all day long.

You want to kill someone put them in a twister. Good luck setting that up.

Better yet take up Kung Fu and learn the dim mak.

People break their necks in accidents all the time and don't die. They may become paralysed, but not necessarily dead. The Steven Seagull neckbreaker instant kill is a product of film.

Martial arts designed to break and debilitate people "on the battlefield" are precursory to stabbing them with a friggin' knife.

samurai's used aikido to flip people on their back and gut them like beetles with their katanas.

lol. 5 minutes is pretty damn short to end someones life with your bare hands, and a lot more cleanier/easier than trying to kill someone with strikes thats for sure.

More like a minute of applied pressure.
The reason the martial arts that work don't have insta- kills is because you can't practice that shit.
I wouldn't risk relying on a move I've never done, and poking a heavy bag in it's imaginary eyes is not the same thing.

Then since you can't practice, you get super impractical shit, and then you get non Sanda kung fu.
The ability to tap is what makes moves applicable. :icon_neut

Designed to subdue. The killing occurred with your edged weapon.

It is rather difficult to kill someone with your bare hands in an actual, gods to honest fight to the death.

There's a reason why people tend to use weapons...

The only way I can imagine killing someone using jiu jitsu would be (the scenario I have in my head is that aliens capture me and force me to fight a mindless clone of me, which is why I could bring myself to use this kind of brutality lol) choking them out and stomping their head in.

The basic rear naked choke is probably one of the most deadliest submissions you can do.

Can opener!

Are you serious? When I saw that move on Submissions101 on Youtube they said not everyone will submit from it. So you are saying using it during rolling, they don't submit and you accidentally kill them? Knowing how to not kill someone is important, if you are serious this is important cause Im a powerlifter and don't want to snap anybody's neck when rolling.

I always thought that crushing the neck with a distal-forearm RNC would kill someone.

This may be one of those, "You don't know unless you try" type situations. Keep us posted! :icon_evil

You don't want to accidentally kill someone?

Don't apply pressure immediately when you go for a choke.

Chokes are about the only possible way you can actually kill someone with BJJ techniques, seeing as how most of them generally go for extremities, and no one will die immediately just because said extremities get crippled or something.

And your powerlifting doesn't figure into accidentally killing someone.
