If a champ isn't booked to fight by 6 months after winning the belt they should be stripped.

So Rose would have to be BOOKED by OCT 7th, same for Khabib. So their fights may not be until DEC/JAN. Is that asking too much? Unless they are out due to surgery like MM & Woodley, in those cases Id say 12 months they must have a fight booked.

Don’t mind interim as long as there’s some time frame n consistency Like:

6 to 9 months inactivity = interim (regardless of a reason)

12 to 18 months inactivity = stripped (regardless of a reason)

I'm on board with the one year with no fight, allowing for reasonable exceptions like an opponent pulling out of an scheduled fight.

Not sure about injury exceptions. My overall feeling is that a year is a long time and champions can reasonably be expected to fight within that space of time.

I agree with 1 year without injuries. Maybe a year and a half with an injury. Automatic strip for skipping mandatory opponent.
