A friend of mine is having twins: one alive and one dead. There is debate whether to tell the living twin, at an older age, that their twin died before birth. What is common practice? What is the best thing to do? Asking for a friend, thanks!

If the twin comes out looking like Christopher Lambert then he already knows.

There can be only one

Kill the live one seems the fairest solution.

Show the movie twins and tell them they are Arnold and they just absorbed divito

For reals though I wouldn't tell the kid until he was like 40.

Because then they might use it as an excuse. Like "my life sucks because part of me is missing." Twins are always closely connected like that

It's only something I'd bring up as exposition if the kid ends up being haunted or stalked by some unknown entity

Just make sure you buy them this top as a present for the future and everything will work out fine

Kid didn't even have the decency to eat the dead twin?

Thought this was gonna be a Kirby Puckett thread.....

Dead twin at birth question

If I had a penny for every time I heard those 5 words...

Man, that live twin might develop some issues when grown up.

Talk about having some skeletons in your closet.

Feed the dead twin to the living one so they can be whole again.

There is no reason to tell you the child.

There’s no reason to tell him until he’s an adult.
