DCU will have yet another actor playing Batman

https://www.dualshockers.com/the-batman-trilogy-confirmed-not-dcu/

Gunn reportedly stated that there is "an incredibly high bar" that must be met for any pitched project that wants to exist outside the DCU, and, clearly, Matt Reeves' The Batman has done so. Another project confirmed to be part of DC Elseworlds is Joker: Folie a Deux, the sequel to the acclaimed 2019 film, Joker. It makes sense that Gunn is greenlighting these films in DC Elseworlds, given that, firstly, they likely wouldn't fit well with his envisioned DC reboot, and secondly, they are both sequels to immensely successful and critically acclaimed movies.

However, Batman lovers that wanted to see the caped crusader play a part in a large connected universe need not fret. Batman will be a part of DCU, but he'll be a different Batman played by a different actor, who shall coexist alongside Pattinson's Batman. Gunn confirmed that Batman's introduction to the DCU will come in the form of a Batman & Robin movie called The Brave and the Bold, based on Grant Morrison's comic-book run. The Brave and the Bold currently has no official release timeframe.

This also means there could be up to 3 concurrent jokers. Joker series Joker, The Batman Joker (already exists) and DCU Joker

The Dark Knight came out the same year as Iron Man

Think about this:

Since the beginning of MCU we have had these people playing Batman:
Christian Bale
Ben Affleck
Robert Pattinson
Michael Keaton (will be in Flash)
and they will have someone new

As Joker, we have had
Heath Ledger
Jared Leto
Joaquin Phoenix
Barry Keoghan
and I guarantee DCU will have someone new

The problem is because the character is called BatMAN. In today's world of diversity and inclusion that wouldn't fly. They should get someone like Ellen Page or Caitlyn Jenner to play Bat-They

Just throw all the Batman and villain actors (Heath Ledger included) in a pit have them fight in a real life battle royal. Winner gets to bang the Catwoman or Robin of their choosing.

Am I losing my fucking mind or were there not three Spider-Man in the last Spider-Man movie?

How many people played Loki in Loki?

this was reported already when the slate was announced.

It wont be that big of a deal. Joker/The Batman are called DC Else worlds

people are very dumb though, but I see it more like comics...theres always multiple bat titles a month not connected

Not quite the same situation. Yes it was weird how Spiderman kept getting rebooted but No Way Home made them all Canon and the whole multiverse thing is Canon anyways. Plus you have the situation where the rights to Marvel characters were spread out across multiple studios, so by default it was a struggle for Marvel Studios to have a single cohesive vision.

However, they found a way to pull it off. Not quite the same as the DC situation as only WB makes DC movies

Loki situation is completely different than either of these 2, not sure why you even brought it up. It's not like each variant of Loki has a starring role in different movies.

Well Heath Ledger is dead… so there’s that.

Anyway I don’t see what the problem is.

I can deal with multiple batverses under the same umbrella so long as they are well done.

Exactly. I see no problem with the multiple iterations of these characters. As Joker and The Batman showed, some of the best DC properties have nothing to do with the overarching DCEU. So let these different filmmakers work with different interpretations of iconic characters.

Just make sure you get good filmmakers and solid stories.

You're just making the rules as you go here. Telling different kinds of Batman stories with different actors in the role is madness, but 3 Peter Parkers in 1 movie isn't because "now its cannon"? Which ignores the fact that "flashpoint" is going to make a DC multiverse cannon as well.

As for the Loki argument, Affleck never started in a Batman movie by himself he's only been in team-ups like the latest of the 2 MCU Hulks. Michael Keaton is also not starring in the flash. So either being the star is important and we're down to 2 Batmen and or it isn't and there are like 150 Loki's.
