DC on how the Cain injury affected his training

DC is looking to wrestle and wrestle and wrestle and wrestle.

I get that but I think Jones's style of wrestling relies a lot on his frame's specificity..
That's why I was saying Gatsalov, though awesome, and one of the best wrestlers in activity doesn't necessarily transfer the most...
Can't hurt for sure, but Cain can also emulate striking/transitions.
A bigger guy like Taymazov would have been cool too :)

He actually said Gatsalov came on his own (so he was not called to replace Cain).

He noted it obviously hurt not to have someone like Cain on his camp, but noted he trained a lot with Cain prior to his injury.

Said Gatsalov helped bring him into the old Wrestling grind mode and that he recalled why he hated going against him. :)

He also said he does not have a prediction of how he'll win (Sub, KO or dec).

He said he doesn't think he's the hungrier fighter. Noted Jon did not tap to Vitor and that he was pushed to the limit by Gus and kept fighting.
He said he admires Jon's confidence and how he fights.

think this was about it.
The above is not word for word. Just my assertion of what he said.

Fighting Jones in his range is a terrible idea. The only person who's been successful trading with him in open water is Gus who is every bit as large as Jon.

Cormier will get in close in HIS range and get his hands on him. Going with a Olympic and world champion to sharpen his wrestling was a great idea.
