“I like Francis, he’s very respectful, but I think everybody now has to take a step back because nothing has changed,” Cormier told Aaron Bronsteter. “This is the same thing that we saw prior to his title fight. Just remember that. You guys have to slow down. You get excited and you fall in love with these knockouts but nothing has changed. He did that to Overeem to earn a title fight. He knocked out all those guys prior. Nothing has changed. So as much as I respect him, it’s not a fight that I would have much hesitation in taking.”

Ngannou (14-3) had never seen a third round in his MMA career before throwing hands with Miocic. That night, “The Predator” had to go all five, something that appeared to exhaust the Cameroonian after the knockout punch failed to find its mark. And judging by his current physique, Cormier is not sure what would be different a second time around.
“Everybody loves the physical guy, the big, strong, bulging muscles, but at the end of the day, oxygen has to pass through that and when you start to wear at that, those guys get tired,” Cormier said. “I think Francis would have to have made some wholesale changes to change everything and I’m not exactly sure what we’ve seen recently to prove that anything has changed.”

DCs quote states the opposite of what you claim in your title.

I dont think so, but can you blame him?

If Stipe wins rematch DC has to fight Ngannou hahahaha

Francis would get smoked quicker than Black Beast, at least Lewis has HEART unlike Ngannou.

If Francis can’t get you out of there by the first, he turns into a mid tier WMMA fighter. If there’s anything DC is good at is EXPOSING fighters with no heart: Rumble x2, Gus, Volk, etc.

no.

Francis had nothing for Stipe's wrestling...but he's going to beat DC? LOLOL

what is this based off of? francis never gave up against stipe. every time he touched him it didnt look good for miocic. stipe is just a better fighter and has heart for days

he layed an egg against lewis but heart wasnt present that night for either of them.

I think DC matches up with him well. Probably the 1 guy at HW I don’t see Ngannou beating

Trying to make sense and comprehend, but having difficult time.

I think Ngannou beats Cormier/Stipe. I really think ego got to Ngannou's head and he shot his wad early, which made it even worse against Stipe as the fight went on.

I mean, of course it might go the other way, but I think Ngannou beats them both.

Dc accepted an easy paycheck vs lewis but now claims francis is easy work and doesnt want to take this fight

I disagree
I think Francis has made adjustments to his game but lets no pretend that he doesn't have touch of death power.
With his reach and power anyone he hits can go to sleep. DC has been KO'd is his chin still the same?
Id like to see he fight and for the right money he would do it, lets not kid our selves.
DC wanted that Lesnar money right?!!!!!! No he telling us why he doesn't want to fight a contender. BS!! Oh yeah those knockouts dont count.

DC has exception striking defense and closes the distance exceptionally well. i don't see him making a big mistake and getting caught by ngannou. could it happen? yes, but probably not. DC's takedowns are violent and take a toll on his opponents. his pressure would be too much for ngannou IMO.

i see the fight starting off slow and ngannou exploding and cormier clinching him up and taking him for a ride. this will happen until ngannou wilts under the pressure and getting submitted or TKO'd.

he says he wouldn't hesitate to take the ngannou fight though.

Nobody has even challenged Francis in grappling since that Stipe fight, so saying that nothing has changed is pretty uneducated at this point.
