For you dudes living in the past, DC confirms the game has evolved since the time he started, stating "I know what the sport looked like when I started to what it looks like now". Goes on to say that guys like Usman and Izzy don't need the same amount of title defenses to surpass guys like GSP and Anderson due to their level of opposition.

Don't take my word for it, take future HOF'er and double champ DC's word for it. You guys living in the past need to realize this crop of fighters is just better, regardless of their personality or "schtick" not meeting your WWE expectations.

I don’t think that’s very logical. If you believe they have more skill, or have been trained to do more things, or have used modern nutritional and chemical innovations to be better physically, that’s all fine, and they shouldn’t really need any title defenses since it’s just an opinion anyway.

This is a solid argument; however, many shersheep are completely unable to accept the sport has moved on. Many people still feel fighters were better in Pride or that GSP and Andersons accolades can never be touched.

I don't like Mr. Eye rake either; that said, his opinion does hold weight here. He saw the sport evolve from when he started to today and he can see the progress in the skillset and preparation of this new batch of guys.

The only dvisons that havent evolved are heavyweight and light heavy weigh
all the others are

1. Bigger in terms of size(frankie edgar was lightweight and is now dwarfed at bantamweight for example)
2. significantly more skilled
3. Better conditioned even though they cant juice as much as the old era

Agree on all fronts. LHW does have some promising up and comers in Ankalaev, Rizin guy, and Rakic however.

-29-28 unanimously is not a close decision, it just means he didn't get finished.

-GSP beat one eyed Bisping for the title who was taken to his limits by juice less Hendo earlier that year (and arguably lost).

-How does ruining the reputation of legends help the UFC? I don't disagree that DC says a lot of company an like things on this show, but if you listen to what he says, he actually sounds honest in this take.

Usman wasn't gifted a title shot after his second UFC fight like GSP was. Times have changed, the talent pools in almost all divisions aside from LHW and HW have grown dramatically. I'm not a fan of Usman, but he's fighting in a much deeper division than GSP did.
