People talk like DC got blown out but to me it looked like other than Gus he did the best against Jones.
I mean he did clearly lost but it wasn't as one sided as most of Jones fights are.

He held his own but was effectively neutralized as far as any significant momentum was concerned.

I don't think DC will look back on that fight and say "well, at least I did the second best against him."

He lost and that's how it is.

Word. I had it 2-2 going into the 5th. Jones clearly "dominated"

but the judges had it 3-1 going in, so DC needed a stoppage to win or a 10-8 just to get a draw.
it was close through 3 rounds, then DC was done as an overcooked steak(no juice left).

You have a pretty low standard for domination.

Jones won no doubt, but Cormier pushed him and landed a lot of shots in the early rounds. Cormier is one of the only fighters I would like to see have rematch with Jones (in a year or two if he is still fighting).

He got beat but not dominated. Jury got dominated, Cormier did very well with his clinch and dirty boxing game. I had DC up a round heading into the 4th where he seemed to gas from the body shots Jones was throwing. I had it 48-47 Jones. A few wins and DC is back in the title picture.

I mean, he is a 36 year old in a combat sport where for the vast majority of fighters 36 makes you very much an old guy and had a full amateur wrestling career before this, and had literally the worst body type that someone fighting Jones could have and his most notable wins were against Mir, who again is 0-4 in his most recent fights, Barnett, who was a 15 year way, way past his prime vet not known for fighting great without PEDS, and Roy Nelson.

Those expecting him to win were by and large just mentally dying to be rid of Jones as MMA's most celebrated figure once and for all. In reality he did as good or better than most fans who looked at it objectively predicted.

I think losing 4 of 5 rounds to Jones and still being called pretty good just shows how amazing Jones really is.

He got sonned. Jones broke him.

    DC did excellent

I had the fight 2-2 going into the fifth

Then if you want to call that fifth round a win for jones, it was a shitty win. He got slammed and if you count a slam as a heavy blow (which IMO it should be counted that way) then the round is debatable.

Jones landed an elbow and a punch in the fifth, then pushed him against the cage doing nothing for awhile. They were even in the clinch when not against the cage.

DC won't lose to anyone else mark my words.
Some People just don't realize yet the enormity of what we witnessed.
Or they just try to discredit it anyway.
Hell I'd pick DC even against Gus.

    Jesus Christ.

Rampage was dominated. Chael was dominated. Even my beloved shogun was dominated.

    Buy some glasses.

Sherdog, the place where the word 'dominated' is used a bit too liberally.
