That's a pretty big overstatement on the whole, but I agree that those shots were pretty pathetic in the third round. They would not have worked on Lawler. The first takedown in round 1 was a better representation of his wrestling skills.

I do think he deserves a shot based on his winning streak. But I don't think he could beat Lawler(if he's still the champion by the time Maia gets a shot) Lawler would of made him pay with sprawl in brawl for all those telegraphed shots. And he's cardio still seems to be in question.

Demian Maia has amazing grappling. I mean we knew this, but Matt Brown is no slouch and he dominated him. I am one of the rare people that got excited by that fight (giggity). Maia won't win the title but damn his grappling is otherworldly.
