Keepin the thread on top with a story.

I remember showing this to Dave when he was a white belt and stuck in wrestler mode. And then again working on this position before we went to Joes Nationals where he beat Lister the first time when they were blue belts. We named Lister Daves Ugly Twin, LOL.

Dave was always dangerous with leg locks having started in Sambo before he came to us.

You guys just dont know how hard this guy can train, sure some injurys, but that kind of hard training breaks regular people. No bias excuses here for Daves missed fights, his training is just a sight to see.

I have trained with a "whos who" in BJJ, but there is no one with as tight a game. This is the most uncomfortable place for me when I have rolled with Dave. I like the pic because you can almost FEEL how tight and uncomfortable it is, UFC Tuffer Chris Sanford is not enjoying the experience here either.

Great instruction for you No-Gi guys to keep a eye out for.

BTW, Dave's academy was the first real No-Gi instruction curriculum.

Great pic Monte! Dave just coached me into that position while rolling with someone on Friday...had the guys back and he rolled to the side..I let him roll into the position in your pic and sunk the armbar! I feel very luck to learn from Dave! Do you have any footage of Dave training when you guys started? I want to put together a video and it would be REALLY cool to have some older footage in it.

Weigh-ins at the PH Academy day before for the weight cutters and day of too. I think BJJ should be day-of and compete at your walking around weight, just me.
