How? Let's say there's a pure political reason (I don't think this is true but I'll put that aside for now) -- how does that cheapen the product on the screen or in a book?
For example - if the Lord of the Rings is a good TV script and some person in central casting casts a black or Asian or Hispanic person in some role to broaden representation, how does that cheapen the quality of the script or the cinematography or other elements of the production?
AgreeBecause the only reason to remake an iconic, award-winning film is to capitalize monetarily on the existing name/popularity/success, while using cheap modern social nonsense as your mechanism for delivery. Anybody with a brain sees it's highly unoriginal and a "money grab". In fact, it should almost be seen as offensive by the POC who would be given a "secondary" attempt for studios to rake in as much as they can.

But it's not an enclosed community.
Middle Earth is a fairly large place. People are familiar with Bilbo and his family and close friends, but that's not the entire community, let alone all of the hobbits in the Shire. This is like picking one family in a neighborhood and saying "Nope, there isn't any variation in this neighborhood from the one family that was selected."
But since I'm curious -- you feel certain about the range of genetic variation within Middle Earth Hobbits?

I think it happens with identity politics “you are so special let’s talk about people you identify with and glorify it” along with everyone gets a trophy ..It's staggering how mentally fragile people are becoming......the constant pandering to and neo-nurturing of all declared emotion is a literal mental health crisis.
Yes it turns people like the best people for the job or skill .. this is why WNBA isn’t as big as NBA or if they made all all tranny league not many would watch it. It doesn’t mean Women in mma aren’t entertaining or a trans comedic can’t be funny butIt doesn't surprise me these mentally-ill woke people don't understand the money-making giant Chappelle is, especially when compared to the woke nonsense they create. At the end of the day, money talks and the majority of Netflix users will prefer to watch a Chappelle stand-up over anything some woke tranny could come up with.
You know, we joke about the "you're so special no matter who you are" shit that started popping up in the early 2000s but it could be a factor into why there are so many people on anti-depressants these days.I think it happens with identity politics “you are so special let’s talk about people you identify with and glorify it” along with everyone gets a trophy ..
day to day life for people that were raised to believe they are special just because must be awful.You know, we joke about the "you're so special no matter who you are" shit that started popping up in the early 2000s but it could be a factor into why there are so many people on anti-depressants these days.
If you tell a generation that they're special no matter what and society is wrong for not praising them just for being alive, why would they make any real effort to improve themselves? Life without drive/purpose to improve yourself (whether physically, mentally or socially) would be very depressing.
And instead of sending the message to get up and do something to improve yourself and you'll find happiness, we tell them "no, just take these pills and hopefully you'll feel better and continue to not have any drive, telling yourself you're great, no matter what"
And what ends up happening?
-We have a bunch of lazy, obese people who are brainwashed into thinking they're fine and healthy at 500-lbs and society is evil for not accepting them like everyone else.
-We have a bunch of mentally ill people who think they're supposed to be the opposite sex and society is evil if they aren't accepted as normal.
-We have a bunch of young adults who took nonsense majors in college, sit around all day on Twitter instead of trying to gain valuable skills and say society is evil for not giving them free shit.

Netflix Urged To Remove Dave Chappelle Imagery From Offices Amid “List Of Asks”
Asks for Trans* Walkout – 10/20/21
- Eliminate references/imagery of Chappelle inside of the workplace, including but not limited to murals, posters, room names, swag;
- Acknowledgement that the special causes harm to the trans community and Netflix’s responsibility on it so we keep the conversation around transphobia evolving internally;
- Trans and non-binary content investment

These people are going to be disabused of any notion that they have any power beyond that of being token representation of tolerance. This shit didn't work at Spotify with Rogan and isn't going to work here with Chapelle. The cost benefit analysis just isn't on their side. Not by a loooooong shot. Did give me a bit of a chuckle though. Dumbasses.Netflix Urged To Remove Dave Chappelle Imagery From Offices Amid “List Of Asks”

I'm looking forward to people unironically explaining that hobbits should not be diverse because that's unrealistic.
