Hi, just wondering if anyone has used or is currently using the newest version of the datsusara hemp gi in white?
Would like to know what you think because I am thinking about getting one but it's pretty pricey- over $200 AUD plus shipping and all.
Would like good reviews before going on and buying one.

I bought the blue version.

Quick review for you.

Its a great Gi,

Doesn't shrink much, so pay close attention to the sizing info on the site.

Very lightweight and comfortable, it actually gets softer each wash.

Pants are a little baggy, leg width wise (on me at least)

Sheds a LOT of fabric the first 4 or 5 rolls/washes.
Probably isn't as big of an issue with a white Gi, but in the blue I looked like I painted my skin blue after the first two times I rolled in it, and my partners White Gi's were covered in blue dust, even after washing.
It settles down after about 6/7 washes, mine doesn't shed anymore.

Aside from the pants being a little baggy (again, on me at least), and the shedding in the first few wears, it's fantastic, especially if you don't like a thick heavy Gi soaking up sweat etc.

I'd highly recommend the Gi, and also Datsusata as a company.

Their customer service is tremendous, I've never dealt with a retailer with as much concern for a customers satisfaction in their product than Chris from Datsusara.

Chris makes a great hemp gi! He's been developing his gi for years now and knows his stuff.

If you need an in-between size (or even a regular size), we still have a few of our navy blue 100% hemp gis left in stock, so hit me up if you are interested.

I had the opportunity to use a prototype Flow hemp gi and it is by far a VERY soft and light gi. The pants are also soft but not flimsy. As one of the very few companies that makes 100% hemp gi's, it is a great gi to roll in.

I can't speak for the Datsusara gi, but I am pretty sure its also a pretty good gi as many people can attest to.

Flow and Datsusara have great customer service as well. You can't go wrong with either one.
