Spoilers below, so BEWARE! This is about the book of the same name.

So I finally finished this book and it was underwhelming.
The wife got it for me for Valentines Day.
It is basically a story about Sidious with some sprinklings of Plagueis and then it mixes in characters from Phantom Menace. Nate Gunray, bunch of Nabooines and even freaking Jar Jar.
When Sidious finally kills his master in accordance with the rule of Two, it was shitty.
The Darth Bane books were much better. Bane(in orbolisk armor) and Zannah woud push Plagueis and Sidious' shit in.

Sounds shitty. The rule of two is stupid as hell to begin with. I heard a bit of this story when people started speculating that this Snoke dude is a recovered Plagueis.

Even if I cared, the mere mention of Nute Gunray and Jar Jar means I'm never cracking the spine.

Didnt Plagueis die in like the first 50 pages lol?

There are so many other cool stories in the Star Wars universe.

I heard this was a really good book.

Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens Lost Stars

It follows two people, whom are part of the Empire. Supposedly, it shows the Empire's point of view for all the major battles from the original trilogy (Hoth, deathstar, Endor, etc). It even includes the battle of Jakku, which is why all the Imperial ships were on the surface of the Force Awakens.

yeah the rule of two is retarded. why wouldnt they want more sith to help with their plans? maybe they're all to greedy for power idk. would be cooler if they hadnt made that a rule of the sith.

Plaguies is jar jar haven't you seen the YouTube vids......

I agree. I found it to be a dry read. There were several times where I had to re-read a section because my mind would drift. It did focus a lot on the politics and positioning Sidious into power.

Had some moments though that were interesting. Enjoyed reading about Palpatine as a kid, essentially a rich, spoiled kid who disagrees with his father's politics. And how he flips out on his father and family when he's being taken away to boarding school.

And also how he came across Maul as a baby and basically groomed him as his own personal henchman.

It did make me want to rewatch the prequels though which I haven't wanted to do since I watched them the first time.

Maul Lockdown was a quick and good read, mainly because it involves Maul going to jail to try and find a secret arms dealer. He's sent there by Palpatine to acquire weapons to take out Plagueis.

Then the warden pits inmates against each other while taking bets from all across the galaxy.

However Maul is not allowed to use the force so that he doesn't blow his (and Sidious/Palpatine's) cover. He gets involved in several fights and it plays out awesomely, again raising Maul's rep for bad assets. *edit* meant badassness, damn autocorrect

And shoutout again to @Luger , dude is a Star Wars library, hooked me up with a ton of books

If I'm not mistaken, the rule of two ensures that the teachings of the Dark Side get passed down and the master has someone to do his badass bidding. Adding more than ONE apprentice is a surefire way to get killed. The aprentice always tries to overthrow the master at some point. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Darth Traya formed the "sith triumvirate" with her two apprentices, Darth Sion and Darth Nihilus. Eventually, the two teamed up and pushed her shit in.

That doesn't mean that there can't be a ton of sith. It just means that one Lord always has at least one apprentice at the time.

Darth Maul was completely wasted on the big screen. They've used him a lot in the cartoons. Such a powerful and fascinating Sith.

Ohhh okay thanks for filling me in. I always thought that there was only two sith at all times. Thats wayyyy better.

If you were a Sith, would you trust a large group of people that were as thirsty for power as you are? the Sith were fighting the Jedi's and themselves which is why Darth Bane created the rule of two.

Well, it seems like your choice is surrounding yourself with lots of like-minded people that aren't that trustworthy to fight scores of Jedi, or else going two-on-fifty.

Shadows of the Empire, Truce and Bakura, Thrawn Trilogy, and so many others make excellent source material for movies.

Disagree. This book blows away any of the movies. I loved it.

Also to truly complete the book one should read The Tenebrous Way.

The Plagueis book also introduced Darth Gravid which is a character that one day should get his own book.

This is the second or 4th star wars book i have ever read. Darth Bane is a triliogy. So 2 or 5. I found it unrewarding, it was a Sidious book. The thing is you could be right since it open to individual taste. Any other Star Wars books i should check out.
