Boone(one of GGG's current sparring partners)who is the only guy to drop Ward and also dropped Kovalev and knocked out Adonis Stevenson says GGG beats both Ward and Kovalev.

“Triple-G beats Ward and Kovalev,” Boone said, referring to Golovkin by his popular nickname. “Ward has better boxing skills, but with the power, it’s Gennady. What separates him is he trains so hard. To see him work out and spar, he’s a different fighter, never wastes shots, never gets overzealous.”

“GGG is something special,” Boone said. “I’ve been in the ring with everybody. He’s a different fighter. No one can beat him at 160 or 168 … and I think it’s some B.S. [from Alvarez]. It’s a 160-pound belt. Either fight him or give it up. It’s a mockery. You want to be the best? Beat the best. Fight everybody.

“I might be 23-23, but that’s what I do.”

Interesting take on things and the guy has serious credentials but it's hard to believe someone when they are talking about the guys paying their bills versus guys that already beat him in the ring.

I've been trying to tell them man. I have said all of this and heard nothing about it. Boone, being in camp with GGG now, has seen what Gennady can do and sparred with him. He's amazed.

Here's Boone's own words from that article you posted

Some sexy ass punches, apparently. @senri, you ever heard of punches described as salacious?

Only relating to one other fighter.

I like the way you think but sadly I am pretty sure the dude said "hellacious".

Power, power, power.

Yeah, Ward never fought anyone with power before.

If he would simply say "his punches were" instead of "his punches was" then we would not have this problem. Either way, I am rolling with "salacious" because it is much more comical.

I laughed too when I first heard him say that. But, Boone's a pro boxer so I don't expect him to have the most extensive vocabulary or understanding of what some of these lesser used words even mean.

Power, power, power.

Yeah, Ward never fought anyone with power before.

Mayweather's beaten big guys therefore he beats anyone bigger.

Ward's beaten big punchers therefore he beats any big puncher.

Not great reasoning.

Ward is widely better than Golovkin.

"He hits really hard so he wins" is much lesser logic, IMO.

Agreed. Ward is an excellent technical boxer of the highest level. He can't crack like GGG though and hasn't got his excellent chin either. When it comes to pro boxing, prizefighting, these are significant disadvantages. You could argue that because he doesn't have GGG's power that it forced him to become more of a technician and tactical genius but why not have both? That would be optimal and you can punch very hard and still be technical and very strategically tactical, it doesn't mean you have to rely on just your power.

Im proud of you in seeing the crevasses of the mind of men. Yiu are evolving. Although salicious is very sexually direct. Nonetheless it is poetry of the earth.

What will be of your mind if kovalev loses and gets consumed by the blackblack flesh?

I wouldn't be shocked. Andre Ward is the goods. If Ward is the better man that night then he's the better man. He's a more technical fighter, has better footwork, higher ring IQ and makes adjustments as good as anyone active today in the sport. He's a Top 3 or 5 P4P guy, skill wise Top 3 for sure.

I'd be very impressed if Ward can beat Kovalev. He'd deservedly be P4P #1 if he pulls it off, at least imo.

that is a good diplomatic response. Whatever the outcome becomes you will receive their existence smoothly inside without mucj mental anguish in the process. Antithesis can learn a thing or two from you.
