These are the greatest acting performances of all-time. Who do you think gave the better performance?

The only good thing about there will be blood is the acting and cinematography.

That being said, Jack wins

Tough to say. These are two of the all time great roles. Do I dock Daniel at all for doing a John Huston impression?

I don't think so. How about Nicholson doing a Nicholson impression?

DDL has a considerable lead thus far.

Was blown away by DDL in There Will Be Blood but watched Gangs of New York for the first time not too long ago and he wasn't much different. really hurts the performance in retrospect. it wouldn't matter if people didn't hype him up as much - - but they do, and specifically his performance in There Will Be Blood.

Have you seen Lincoln or My Left Foot? Two more masterpieces and nothing like anything else.

I can't choose. DDL was brilliant but I only watched that film once whereas I've seen The Sining dozens of times including last week so I much more familiar with his performance. It's prob DDL but I really can't choose one.

Great flicks but Jack in the Shining is far too delicious...

Seen Lincoln but haven't seen My Left Foot. I know he has range but too many people single out There Will Be Blood as one of the single greatest performances of all time. now having said that, it still kinda is, but at the same time there's too much of Bill the Butcher in Daniel Plainview for me to give my completely worthless stamp of approval.

Gangs of New York was a De Niro impression. There Will Be Blood was John Huston.

Jack because of What Kubrick put that whole cast through.

Fuck those stories are amazing. I'm not sure I could have put up with that shit. Duval = scarred for life!

Bless that cast lol..

Daniel Day Lewis does a peerless job portraying a self-serving sociopath.

Thankfully he didn't do shenanigans to the kids once he got what a decent shot they were pretty much whisked away to their waiting areas so they wouldn't be exposed to much of the scary stuff
