Cormier's opinion on the Jones/Gus situation:

"He had to reach so deep into his soul to win that last fight. I truly believe he doesn’t want to fight Alex again, Alex took him somewhere he’d never been before and he doesn’t want to go there ever again."

"Everybody was screaming for the rematch after that fight with Alex and he said 'no', that he wanted to fight Glover. Now, if he comes back and says essentially, ‘I don’t want this rematch,’ how do you think that’s going to come across? Once? OK. He said he wanted to fight Glover and everyone knows about Glover. But twice would be hard to understand. I honestly don’t think Jon is afraid, but Alex pushed him to a point in that fight where I don’t think he ever wants to go again"

"So obviously, this might benefit me in the long run. And if Jon really believes that I would be the tougher fight, then he would be doing it for the right reason. But if he is saying he wants to fight me because he believes I’d be an easier guy? Man, I don’t know. That’s not good."

"As the champion, it’s his obligation to fight the guy they say is the top challenger, and right now, that is Alexander Gustafsson. It’s been strange. At the end of the day, he’ll probably end up fighting Gustafsson again, but this isn’t something he’s volunteering for, I can tell you that."

So he calls out JBJ begs him to skip the Gus fight so he could be next. Then JBJ is asking for DC and wants to skip Gus. Then DC acting like a baby afterwards, while trying to make JBJ look bad in the process..... such a douche!

At what point will this become 'DC scared, ducking Jones'?

What?

He's obviously playing mind games just like JBJ. :icon_chee He will enjoy eating a bucket of chicken while Gus and JBJ slug it out and will be fully ready for a title fight.

crazy how the mouth breathers are buying into this nonsense.

then when the Jones/Gus match gets signed it will be like Jones was "forced" into this rematch, ZOMG THE HYPE!! ZOMG IMMA BUY THE PPV 10X!!

jeez.

All i know is that Bones has his hands full, knowing he has to fight Gus then DC and then possibly Rumble . That is brutal. Bones can't duck Gus forever, but probably is hoping that he can fight DC now and hopefully Gus has to fight in the mean time again and lose . Like Cormier said i don't think Bones is "scared" of Gus i just think he knows Gus is going to beat that ass again. Bones wanting to fight DC first might not be the best idea either, b/c Cormier is a beast as well, only difference is Bones will have the reach/height advantage over DC.

Either Cormier is incredibly inconsistent, or some of the quotes attributed to him lately are false or taken out of context.

I like this one, though. It's a plausible way of looking at it.

Doesn't matter what Jones think. The fans want it. Dana White wants it. It shall be done.

It literally does matter what Jones thinks. If it didn't matter what Jones thinks, he and Gus would've already had the rematch.

Seems to me Jon wants to fight Cormier so he can exploit his reach advantage.
He really isn't helping his case, fights the only guy of comparable size to him, almost loses.
Now won't take the rematch, wants a guy that's about 5'10

It mattered and thats why he fought Glover instead but now thats all over with and its gonna be much harder to sway Dana. I think they will make Jones fight Gus no matter what he says.

Cormier's been talking non-stop about deserving to get next shot at JBJ...right up until JBJ said OK.
Now DC is ...
