Daniel Cormier would postpone knee surgery for a title shot

Jones vs Gus is the fight that needs to happen, then DC gets the winner. I don't want to see an injured Cormier fighting Jones, DC can win via superior wrestling, but it wont be as effective with a fucked up knee. Plus Jones likes to throw those strikes to the knee, so knowing DC is not 100% he will likely target it for a TKO via injury. Fuck that.

That's dumb especially against someone who is known for push kicks against his opponent's knee

Jones will be using oblique kicks all the way and that will spell trouble for DC. If he requires surgery, he should get it first and then fight at 100% against Jones.

im so fucking hateful for this shit of people winning the belt, then rehabbing all their injuries

champs should fight 2-3x a year, if you cant defend it twice, youre not the champ anymore

the superbowl/world series/world cup arent held off for injuries

Different champ every half year.

I think Cormier might be a little too desperate for his own good here.

Cormier called out Jones on TV after his win and also said Gus had no chance. He than hears Jones saying that he wants cormier and than tells jones that he is ducking Gus after he calls out jones after his win, He then makes the statement that Gus has no chance and of course inserts himself in the conversation.

Now Cormier says he will postpone knee surgery for a fight with Jones.

Cormier has played this game well

And giving Jones exactly what he was hoping for. Hopefully the UFC doesn't budge.

Well then he should not be calling out Jones and making statements that Gus has no chance and inserting himself into the dialogue for a fight next.

Cormier is too desperate and too his own detriment and needs to step back.

Exactly, which is what Jones was hoping for.

Sure it was, its always a good thing to have an active imagination.

Hopefully Gus gets the fight and cormier rehabs regardless of Cormier's comments on Gus having no chance and wanting the fight.

He needs to stop prodding jones.

Dana already said that fight is a no go. Jones needs to fight Gus first.
He should get the knee fixed first, better not to fuck around with a blown knee.

What? It's blatantly obvious, no need for an 'imagination'. Jones calls out Cormier straight after he finds out he's injured, hoping DC is desperate enough to take it. How do you need an 'active imagination' to put them two together?

He needs to get healthy before fighting for the title. It would suck to lose the fight because of a bad knee.

Is he serious? He does know Jons main areas of attack is eyes and knees.

Agreed. The champ should have a hard line for fights and it's in the UFC's best interests to have title fights. Make use of the titles. They could even have a schedule of certain title fights on certain days if they wanted like every January, May September is say a WW title fight... champ can train for these fights, or, whoops, got injured? Okay you two get in there and fight for the strap, when so-and-so who got injured comes back he can fight for it again to re-claim it from whoever has it.

The UFC is the championship belts bitch and it should be the other way around.

The UFC should be tossing the rights to those who can win and defend the belts on a regular basis where longevity and durability will soon become the standard of what makes a real champ as opposed to someone who wins the title, takes a few months off, signs a fight, tweaks his knee, postpones a fight, ducks a contender, doesn't like the venue............ hit the bricks pal, don't want to fight? Take a walk so we can find someone who wants to fight everyone for glory, fame, money and big shiny belt.

This is terrible, Dominick Cruz is still the champ and you know it.

DC knows he'll win the belt if they give him a shot.

All this does is create a bunch of paper champs, guys fighting injured when they really shouldn't be, and blurring the lineage of the real champ. Nothing wrong with the system the UFC has now with interim champs imo. It's an individual combat sport, injuries are going to be a part no matter what.
