Daniel Cormier vs Chris Weidman

It's a legit match-up and something you may see 2 years down the road, making great food for thought.

maybe read the rules of the forum.

and no, its not a legit match up and no it won't happen in 2 years.

Thanks so much for this post. Learned a tremendous amount. Can't thank you enough, stupid me.

Weidman's skillset might be more ambiguous but no one is doubting that he is very skilled. His potential is still an enigma, but in respect to his striking, he has proven to be at the very least extraordinarily competent.

I agree, Weiman is very talented and good, but how good, I just dont know. For me, I think we will learn alot more after the Machida fight.

However, we definitely cannot say that Weidman can beat or compete with DC, thats just ridiculous talk at this point.

You also feel like that doesn't make much sense? What do you mean?

Chris Weidman is legit, but his striking is being overexaggerated. Based on the way you are describing him, he seems unbeatable.
I think his striking is unproven. Anderson gave him a lot of openings, can he effectively land good shots and come out dominant in exchanges against top strikers? It's hard to say...

I would favor DC, the size and strength difference alone makes it hard for me to pick Weidman.

He was training for both the Olympics and Worlds before getting into BJJ and then eventually into MMA.

What's funny is, he does...

Weidman was the 2003 New York State arm wrestling champion, hence that gold medal thingy around his neck.

Kind sir,

Today i bow down to you.

Well fucking done

I am not making him out to be unbeatable man. I am just giving him his credit. I think that Machida is a real threat.

He's the only fighter in the world right now that could conceivably hold the MW, LHW, and HW titles at the same time. Not saying he'd beat Cain or anything stupid like that, but he's the only one on the planet with that shot. Think of how legendary that would be.

^LOL.

If by shot you mean he has a 1% chance of accomplishing the above feat, then yes I would agree with you.

I'm saying Cormier would whoop his ass and isn't gonna get dominated completely on the feet. Weidman's fight with Anderson was essentially Anderson circling and throwing leg kicks, and Weidman striking whenever Anderson has his hands down.

Regarding the size difference between Cormier and Weidman. No, Cormier isn't bigger, though he is certainly stocky and wide.

the idiocy in this thread grows by each post. do you create this stuff up as you type on your computer? how would it be conceivable that weidman can hold mw, lhw, and hw titles at the same time? do you expect anyone to take you seriously with that nonsense?

i could conceivably win the lottery, while becoming the next u.s. president, and banging every playboy model from today to next year, all at the same time. does that sound conceivable to you?

Whoop whom, Weidman? I would favor DC too..The size and strength advantage for DC would be too much. Weidman isn't a fish out of water against DC either though. And I don't think either guy would "dominate" in the striking, all I am saying is that I think that Weidman has proven to be a more competent one.

I can't believe how much you can be wrong within that small post.. DC's wrestling credentials is worlds above Weidman's. Hendo would outwrestle the fuck out of Munoz. Cormier has shown KO power at HW, Weidman has shown KO power at MW. Guess which one is more impressive?

You are overly simplifying the fight in a way that downplays what Chris Weidman did in the striking department.

Thanks for your concern idiot. Its impossible in actuality. He's the only fighter I can think of with a body that could be competitive in all three of those classes. I was stating how legendary that would be, in this thread of fantasy we are in. Not that its actually going to happen. But thanks for taking it so literal. You probably do really well in social situations with real live people in front of you.

This thread is hilarious. For sure will be bumped in a year or two's time.

Well, both DC and Chris would beat Jones. This would be one hell of a fight but Weidman would take it. He's too dangerous in the clinch with short power punches. DC does not have the power to KO him, he'd have to grind on top of him all 5 rounds and that wont happen. Chris late 4th round TKO

Weidman is beating Jones? How, by checking a kick and praying for premature osteoporosis? I think Weidman's used that one already.

I think Weidman is a very good fighter, but he isn't moving up to 205 and beating the top guys there. Jones and Cormier would dominate Weidman.

Lets see him get past Machida first before we start booking him at LHW.

He's simply saying that Weidman has the size/skills to compete in all three weight classes without much modification to his body. Remember Couture held the title and was smaller that Weidman. Weidman is 6'2" with a 78" reach. His frame is big enough for HW.

Love how, as usual, people keep saying Cormier would win due to size and strength, attributing nothing to his world class skill. Those 'explosive' stereotypes are too difficult for some of you idiots to shake.

The size and strength is what separates them, of course DC is world class, and in my opinion, the best guy in the UFC without a belt.
