Daniel Cormier specifically state that he will not accept going to war with young guys and contenders, NOT because they are not skilled enough, but because its not big enough fights.

He's 40 years old . Is going to retire soon, and he is looking for big fights, no matter how undeserving the opponents.

Another 2 divisions is locked up. Has he earned this right?
 
Of course. He's adding to his retirement fund.

Yes his base pay last night is roughly equivalent to what james harden makes for one game
 
And you know what, as active and classy as he's been in the time he's been in the UFC. He's earned it...

At least he's being honest about it I guess. It shouldn't hold things up too long.
 
Yay. He's not doing it under the illusion of "anyone, anytime".

He's said he'll defend against Gus if he has a good performance, so that's a fight for that belt sorted. He's going to fight Brock at heavyweight, so that's sorted. It's not like LHW and HW are full of top contenders waiting for a shot either. LHW is a group of people DC has beaten and old men, HW has guys on losses + Blaydes and Volkov who should fight each other.

Hate to bring you know who into it, but it's not like DC is stopping clear #1 contenders from getting a fight. He's a guy openly saying hey I've only got 1 or 2 fights left in me, I want them to be big
 
Yeah but he's retiring next year so it's fine. He deserves a big payday on the way out.

And being transparent about it too.
 
He has no loyalty. He should fight for free for the next 3 events. WME's margins are too low and need improvement.
 
Why tf would he wanna fight Blaydes or Lewis for the title and receive a mediocre reward. DC deserves money fights at this point.
 
I dunno. A more appropriate title for this thread would be;

"Daniel Cormier is now only looking for Double Cheeseburgers. Yay or nay?"
 
The man is almost 40 with a wife and two kids. I’m glad he will get his red pantie night with Brock
 
Good for him. Dc is going to be around the sport long after he retires. Smart and likable guy if you don’t have jones balls in your mouth

I would say that 205 is now free for anyone to come in and take over. I’ve gotta say it looks pretty favorable for shogun right now to take back his old belt lol
 
Ofcourse that's what he should do. He's got 2 belts and about to retire

don't see anything wrong with it. he's not just walked in demanding big money. he's been doing this for years and paid his dues so if there's an option to take a money fight as your last fight then why not

That Man is wasting the prime of is career away. It’s going to suck seeing him fight in his late 30s a shell of what he once was.
