Jones is the only top draw champion not locked up in a fight immediately surrounding UFC 200. With the card as is and Jones vs Cormier headlining, that's a stacked card with 3 championship bouts and should clear at least 1.6 million.

Jones and Cormier just have that rivalry and animosity that sells PPVs to the casuals like Conor vs Nate did. But at least now there's legitimacy to the main event with it being for the belt. Dana needs Jones to headline because there's no other fighters that could beat Conor's numbers. Conor as the main event would still beat a Jones event in PPVs, but at least the UFC can say their biggest event didn't completely tank without the supposed savior.

If by a miraculous outcome OSP comes up with the upset, Dana will pop a forehead vein and might reconsider calling up Conor with the Fertita's holding a gun to his head.

It's a big risk, because though chances are that Jones wins fairly easily, what happens if he gets and injury in the fight? Maybe they have just accepted that 200 won't be the big deal they had hoped it would.

If OSP were to beat Jones they'd probably just do Jones/OSP II

I'd rather Jones vs Rumble, than Jones/DC. I understand that DC is the rightful next opponent, but I just think it's gonna be Jones/DC 1 all over again, and possibly even and even more impressive win for Jones, depending on if he hasn't lost a beat since his layoff, and if he's even stronger, and better.

if OSP beats Jones he would become an instant star and they could push him to the moon to sell him at UFC 200

Anything can happen to derail Jones at 200. Remember Jones/Sonnen.

It also hinges on Jones not being pulled over for speeding again; and DC, a 37 year old recovering from an injury with a half torn ACL staying healthy.

In addition, it relies on Aldo not hurting himself and Cain not falling apart.

Heck of a risky card.

I can see Bones/DC @200. I can look past OSP, Jones isn't though

If he loses tonite they would still do Jones cormier IMO.
