Dana's hate towards GSP is obvious and unfair

The hate he gets stems from the fact fact he does things HIS way. Dana doesn't like people he can't coerce.

Also, there is a fraction of MMA fans that don't like him because he has beaten their favorite fighter OR because of the fact people consider GSP GOAT (how dare they!).

1.) He vacated the WW strap after "winning" a controversial decision (most media outlets had Hendricks winning).

2.) He returned to fight Bisping for the MW strap and vacated again even though he agreed to defend the belt in his contract.

3.) He attempted to start a fighter union with T.J. Dillashaw and some other fighters I believe.

Dana gave props to GSP at some business convention he was a speaker at, he knows GSP elevated the sport.

The hate for him is uncalled for! What did GSP ever do?

Never got in trouble w the law, never got caught for steroids, well spoken, good guy, dresses well, was a great person to have when MMA was just breaking on the scene when they said our sport had no athletes and was just a bunch of bar room brawlers,

GSP did so much for the sport, the hate by Dana is so uncalled for imo

Dana has always disliked GSP since his WW reign days. Dana was so pissed off post the hendricks fight never seen him that angry. He verbally abused GSP and joined Hendricks in leading the assault in the post-fight events.

It is well known fact by hardcores and everyone whos been around in that era that Dana is a certified GSP hater... Semi public hater and everyone kinda knows it. Public knowledge

We know from court filings that the UFC has been paying an average of 18% of revenue to fighters. That includes every single penny - bonuses, PPV points and even the insurance policy.

Who here is surprised the President of the organization that prints money keeping 82% of every dollar generated treats fighters unfairly?

Georges was a consummate professional and arguably the greatest ambassador the sport has ever known. A bona fide national icon in his home country who made the UFC tens of millions every time he fought.

They kicked him on the way out the door.

Fighters need an association.

maybe it's because gsp ran his career his way, not the way the ufc wanted him to, specifically dana. he never signed the fight with anderson, dropped the belt, and made the next welterweight champ seem like not the real champ. came back for one fight at middleweight for the title, and did the same thing again with dropping the belt. and then on top of all that, fought defensively in a non-entertaining manner.

i wouldn't be his biggest fan either lol.

Honestly getting tired of Dana he a roided up goofball who underpays fighters and shits on them if they don’t do exactly what he wants and he’s never fought before but he gets way more money and attention then the fighters

in all the other promotions u barely know who the promoter is Dana makes it about himself like he’s above the fighters lol fuck him

GSP is everything Dana wants to be. Bozo lost it with when Georges grew his hair out.

Dana tends to dislike fighters with intelligence. We’ve seen it before in cases with Randy.. Fedor.. Barnett.. GSP..

there are other people and expenses besides Dana's salary LMFAO.

He isn't some one person operation with zero expenses.

Dana hates GSP more than he loves money. He let his hatred of him prevent what would likely have been the biggest MMA fight of all time with GSP and Khabib. All because GSP never defended the MW title after being gifted a title shot against Bisping.

Then night after the Hendricks fight ufc snuck into gsp's dressing room and took the welterweight belt
Buncha assholes

I never understood how Sherdog always went with Dana somehow hating GSP. They’re on good terms from all the interactions they’ve had and interviews about each other. Dana put him in the hall of fame as soon as he retired.

Dana has trouble with fighters who he cannot control. Despite seemingly being a company man, GSP did things his own way. Dana's obvious dislike came when GSP spoke out about PED use in the sport. It brought a spotlight to the UFC that made Dana look bad and he lashed out. He was openly antagonistic towards GSP in the drug testing controversy before the Hendricks fight.

Think about that. Dana has never really been upset at fighters who get busted for PEDs. They are welcomed back post suspension. Yet the guy who speaks out about getting better PED testing is criticized?

Then Dana was upset that GSP did not tell him he was considering retirement. Again, why should that matter? The fighters are independent contractors. The fights are not supposed to be fixed. This is not supposed to be pro wrestling where retiring fighters are given a story line where they lose to the next guy in line. Dana has been ok saying that he was going to force fighters to retire (or just cuts them when they are used up). When a fighter decides to leave on top Dana is suddenly butthurt and trashes him post fight.

As for the MW fight, why would GSP continuing to fight at 185 make any difference. Either he deserved the shot at 185 or he didn't. Imagine a real sport acting like this. "Well, Tom Elway won the Super Bowl and then retired so fuck that guy".
