At the 3:12 mark
So he's pretty confident Conor wins tonight?
Too lazy to watch it? He said IF Conor wins.
The McVisions are already turning out to be wrong.
I think it's for the best, i couldn't watch the Irish see their hometown man get finished by Aldo :/
I hope they stack the card so I can enjoy some good fights before I witness Aldo eliminate Dana's new boyfriend. While this fight will sell, it won't be competitive.
At work can't watch at the moment, was going based off the title thanks for clearing that up greatly appreciate it.
Aldo should make a two minute prediction against Conor mcgregoat
Mutual ground would make sense. He also mentioned that 12% of ticket sales were fans flying in from Ireland so he's probably confident that both Irish & Brazilian fans would flock to Vegas for McGregor/Aldo.
Even with the hype in Ireland Vegas would likely be the best selling venue.
A slap in the face to the Irish fans who have lit up McGregors last two events by travelling to America. They will have spent thousands on those trips and now the UFC wants them to do it for the third time in a year?
What is the point of this global expansion thing if you find a place that has a huge desire for MMA and then refuse to give them the big fights? I understand Vegas is the fight capital of the world but this a huge opportunity for the UFC to smash their attendance and gate receipt records. They have bottled it.
Care to place a sig bet on it? :icon_twis
Should have at least done it in Brazil. This kinda takes a little excitement out having it in neutral territory.
For a start, you can't do an event in Ireland at a stadium at silly o'clock in the morning (ppv prime time in us)because of noise and licensing issues. Secondly there's the whole pissing it down angle. Wouldn't bother the fans too much but would be a huge problem in terms of providing a safe octagon to fight in.
I'm sure the thought of thousands of thirsty Irishmen is making the bar owners faces light up at the thought.
I'm happy wherever it is, just can't wait for Aldo to obliterate him
After working his way back to title contention....
It would have been better in Ireland, a bit of atmosphere at least.
Another long plane journey ahead.
The reporter asked if the title fight was going to be in Boston and he chuckled and said "No, that'll be in Vegas".
I wouldn't put too much into what he said in this interview. Odds are it's in Vegas, but it didn't come across as official or anything. It was just a quick response to a dumb question by a reporter who knows nothing about MMA.
I'm sure they're still exploring the Irish soccer stadium idea.
