Dana just said at the post-fight presser that Jones had been fighting smaller guys and that Gus' reach/height is what made the difference.

Surprised he would say that so candidly lol.

    But it's true.

He should thank God every day that he was blessed with insane athleticism and length. He is not very skilled compared to the top fighters

I gotta give Dana credit. He knew a year and a half ago that Jones was nowhere ready to fight in the HW division. Atleast not ready to jump into Cain and JDS waters like Jon was talking.

Specifically, he admitted that was a large part of marketing the fight.

Everyone knows that except his delusional fans. If Machida was the size of Jones and Jones was the size of Machida, it wouldn't even be a fight.

His reach and height are his best tools that's for sure. Still a skilled fighter.

Gus deserves credit but acting like 100% of what Gus did was pure skill and not because he also has great reach SPITS on Vitor Belfort, Rashad Evans, Shogun Rua, Rampage Jackson, and Lyoto Machida.

Those guys also have fantastic striking and couldn't do a damn thing to Jones. You honestly think Alexander is just that much better than them? Or.....could it be something else?

This fight has shown that Jones, as good as he comparatively is to his division, will not even be close to the greatest we will see in this sport if mma continues to progress. He has absolutely no striking defense. Up to this point, his defense has been hitting his opponent from outside their range. Imagine Gustaffson with an 84" reach and superior wrestling. That's what we will eventually be seeing if this ever reaches "NBA" level.

This is why Jones is going to stay at LHW as long as he can before going to HW.

Yep, Dana wants Bones to stay in the LHW division. He doesn't want him fighting bigger guys and possibly ruining that cash cow.
