Dana White on Conor McGregor vs Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205, McGregor vs Diaz 2

So Mendes and Diaz didn't step up and fight on short notice... it was all Conor, even though he was already scheduled to fight both times. Makes sense DW. Not sure how everyone in the world managed to see those situations wrong.

Khabib earned a LW title shot against Alvarez... by beating Darrell Horcher?

DW should get tested.

THEY DONT HAVE TO LOVE IT, THEY CAN EVEN HATE IT, BUT THEY WILL BE FORCED TO ACCEPT.

Dana talking about fair lol. He has stepped on many fighters to make the match ups he wants. Jacare for instance.

Conor could of easily refused to fight both of them like Jones did. He didn't though.

Incredible how nobody acknowledges that. Both times the replacements were completely different fighters than his original opponents too.

Somehow... I get the feeling that if GSP had nutted up enough to take the fights Conor is taking, very few people here would be complaining about how "the division is being tied up."

Since GSPlayed it safe, I guess we will never know.

I for one am glad Conor is doing the kinda shit we expected from GSP yet he was too afraid to deliver.

Conor is a pro fighter and pro fighters get paid to fight. His opponents got injured, and other pro fighters stepped up to take the short-notice fight, not Conor. Conor merely agreed to still fight on the day and event he was already scheduled to fight.

It's utter bullshit to credit Conor and not Mendes or Diaz, plain and simple. Conor wouldn't have refused to fight because his ego wouldn't let that happen.

That's a weird thing to have a problem with. I'm sure if Mendes or Diaz were fighting at UFC 205, Dana would have talked about them. Lots of fighters have taken short notice fights. Should Dana mention them all every time he mentions one?

They had nothing to lose, both made Jack all money wise before Conor fight and both had very little fight camp before so had an excuse prepped, Conor makes a tonne based on his persona and aura at that time, a loss damages him much more.

How the fuck did you manage to make this a GSP hate thread? You shouldn't get so emotionally tied to people you don't even know.

So, as long as they make good money, losing doesn't mean anything or is okay? I'm sure there are plenty of athletes that would disagree with you.

It would mean a lot if they had prep time, weighing up the pros and cons of the situation any ufc fighter would take the shot, Christ they're pretty much begging and it sure ain't for the rep of beating the guy, it's for $

So, I decided to actually listen to the clip. It tells a tale of Dana White having no control over Conor. Dana never wanted to do McGregor vs Diaz 2 and he wanted to do Alvarez vs Nurmagomedov. Basically, Conor does whatever the fuck he wants to do. Also, Dana did give Diaz props for putting on two great fights with McGregor.

Iol at the keyboard warrior saying a professional cage fighter needs to "nutt up"

Alvarez/mcgregor will be a fun fight. Eddie usually gets rocked in his fights but he has heart and gets after it. Funny how conor gets finished in a fight comes back with a decision victory then gets a title shot. With the 145# belt on hold once again

Not a Conor fan but you can't blame him for getting gift title shots. It's Dana and the UFC who are to blame for turning the sport into a joke.

Which is something alot of guys won't do. But Conor did. It's real simple.
